IDEX Integrity Toys Reveal–Monograms
I love collecting this line of dolls from Integrity Toys. I just adore the high fashion haughty faces and the uber chic and stylish clothing. It looks like 2012 will be off and running with Monograms and I will be jumping on that train. And even better…these lovely lady’s now have applied lashes. Diggin’ it!

More to come from IDEX Integrity Toys Reveal……
IDEX Integrity Toys Reveal–Poppy Parker as Sabrina!
Today Integrity Toys revealed a small portion of their 2012 lineup and all I can say is WOWZA!
I guess my biggest squeal moment was the announcement that they will be doing Poppy Parker™ as Sabrina®. This is an iconic fashion movie that put Audrey Hepburn and Hubert de Givenchy on the fashion map. You will see that Givenchy is never credited in the Sabrina movie as the designer of Ms. Hepburn’s exquisite wardrobe. Edith Head went on to receive the Oscar for this movie even though she did not design the female leads wardrobe. Let’s face it folks…it’s Sabrina’s wardrobe and the gamine eyes of Audrey Hepburn that carry that movie. I have tremendous respect for Ms. Head’s work but I never understood her willingness to accept the award for that movie. Not right. Most accounts state that Monsieur Givenchy was always an extreme gentleman about the whole thing and I guess in the long run…everyone knew those designs were his and not Ms. Heads work so the true credit went to the true owner. He should have received the award though. Monsieur Givenchy went on to work with Ms. Hepburn in Funny Face and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Integrity Toys designer David Buttry did the most amazing job in my opinion of bringing these to the 1/6 scale arena.

Poppy Photo Shoot–2011/2012 Resort Wear 1
As many of my fellow collector enthusiasts and photographers know, building miniature sets for photo shoots is not the easiest thing to do. It can be incredibly frustrating if the picture in your head does not match the diorama that is unfolding in front of you( not to mention everything falls over with the slightest movement…I wish I could tell you how many times I had to reset the Re-ment pieces on the table….lost count after 5). There have been countless times where I had to scrap an idea and come up with something completely different because it just would not come together. Then…other times it just comes together so easily…a piece here, a piece there..oh I think I have this and it would look great there…kind of thing. I love it when everything just kind of comes together. Also, and I don’t know if anyone else does this but, when I set up a diorama for a photo shoot there is a story in my head as I build the scene. The more elaborate the diorama, the more elaborate the story in my head.
Typically, as day after day runs the seemingly unending gauntlet of rain, rain and more rain during January in the Pacific Northwest, my mind will stray towards sunnier places and luxurious vacation spots. That was definitely the thought process behind this set and the next couple of sets of photos. The story in my head had Poppy vacationing in the beautiful south of France. She is on a patio of some palatial villa overlooking the stunning unique blue of the Mediterranean Sea. There is a pool just off camera and Poppy is relaxing in the sun just before breakfast. Oh the life! And that is one of the beauties behind the photos for me and one of the reasons I enjoy photographing these miniature diva’s so much. I will most likely never vacation in a palatial villa in the south of France….but Miss Poppy can….and that is better than nothing. ![]()

Sweet Confection has arrived!
After waiting approximately 4 months, the much anticipated WClub exclusive “Sweet Confection” Poppy Parker has arrived. ** promo photo is property of Integrity Toys, Inc.**
Her skin tone is a bit darker than the promo pictures would indicate but the face is beautiful. The mod clothing is not something I really collect or a design aesthetic that I prescribe to so the second she arrived…it was time for a redress. All in all, I would have to say I really like her. The really tan skin tone is something I think I am going to have to get used to. Time will tell if she stays or not…but I do love the rooted eyelashes on this lovely lady and the absolutely scrumptious platinum blond tresses set against that very tan skintone. Very, very pretty.

Come home to Mama…..
When I attended the Fashion Royalty convention in October this year, they previewed a doll that was going to be available later in the year by lottery to interested WClub members. It was a beautiful blonde doll with the old Veronique facemold on a FR2 body wearing an amazing purple gown with accessories and a fabulous updo. The lottery was held Monday the 19th and I am happy to report that I won the right to purchase one of these beauties. I hate lotteries because I never seem to win any and I am glad that everyone who entered the lottery seemed to have won the right to purchase. I am hoping she will be shipping soon!!

It’s a Rocker Wedding!!!
I know, I know….you thought I had been hit by a bus or something since it has been so long since my last post. No bus…just holiday decorating. The Ladies Holiday Tea is this weekend so I hope to have some more time and a chance to take some photos next week. I hope to get on a more regular blog posting schedule. Hope being the operative word LOL! To tide us all over, Integrity Toys just released information on the last W Club exclusive doll for 2011 and what a packet of info that was! We are getting the opportunity to purchase not one, not two, but three different dolls and it’s a wedding theme. Yipeeeee!!! Now, normally my taste in collecting goes for the more classic lines but I have to admit, my hands could not hit the “BUY” button fast enough when I saw the snaps for this mini collection. The W Club board has been buzzing for the past few days about this amazing set and here is a little taste why.

The Rock Fashion Wedding Collection
Coming Spring 2012
“You Look So Fine” Erin S.
“Rocking Ever After” Lilith
“Rock Steady” Romain Perrin
This new version of Romain is so cute!!!!
Many W Club members are hoping beyond hope that the actual production dolls hair will come out looking like this( Jim Morrison hair and all). Please, please, please with a big red cherry on top. I did not like the look of the first Romain very much as his face reminded me immediately of a bull terrier….don’t know why….just did. Now this guy….. HOT! No terrier vibe coming through at all. Also, the versatility of this set is amazing. Lilith’s dress can be worn so many different ways…so inventive and fabulous.
And because I love to play around with my slideshow software…I did a slideshow set to music of the entire set of photos that Integrity Toys shared with us. Hope you enjoy!
In order to purchase these dolls, you needed to have signed up for the 2011 W Club. That group is now closed. The 2012 W Club should opening up for subscribers in December. For more information about the W Club go to http://integritytoys.com/page/w_club
Rayna–Jet Set Diva
Yes…I know…her bump gives her a lightly cone head appearance. I like it though. Normally I don’t go for the “Snooky” bump in hairstyles but sometimes it works. I can’t say that “the bump” will stay because I have seen some stellar hair restyles of this lady ( take a look a Shuga Shug’s blog in my blogroll for pics ) and I may have to “de-bump” in the future. For now, it stays and I think she has such a haughty high fashion look as is. I love that aloof look. It’s as if she is saying “I will allow you to take my picture now”. I must say, I did not care for the original clothing she came in. I go for more of the classic clothing but I have to say the original outfit’s colors were fun and it was well made. I like her original boots…just not on her LOL! Anywhoo…it was commented recently that it would be nice to see the before pictures and then the restyle…excellent notion. Here is Ms. Rayna as she came originally.

Bogue’s Vogues Vendredi meets Alyrenee
Well it’s 11/11/11 and it’s long past time for another Bogue’s Vogues Vendredi but this time we have added a twist. I had the pleasure of stumbling upon a lovely lady selling 1/6 hats at the Fashion Royalty Convention this year. You know me and hats so of course I had to stop and take a look at what she had to offer. I walked away with three fantastic hats and the itching need to get them back to the studio and photograph them because they are that amazing. Her name is Alyrenee and her fabulous and entertaining blog is http://alyrenee.blogspot.com/ I decided to pair this fantastic hat with a gorgeous classically styled black 3/4 sleeve silk day dress with rolled velvet collar by James Bogue. Here is the result….
model: Forget Me Knot Poppy ( redhead )
Dress: Bogue’s Vogues ( http://www.etsy.com/shop/boguesvogues )

Ahhhhh! I LOVE this hat! Alyrenee, you are an artist.
The Holidays are Coming to the Studio….
I have always loved the holidays. Ever since I was little, this time of year never fails to fill me with excitement and joy. When my kids were younger, it was just mostly me and my husband doing the massive holiday decorating and while it was a huge task, I loved every moment. Now, my kids are older, and we all participate in “dressing up the house” for the holidays. I love that both my kids get excited when they see furniture being rearranged and spaces being made for the Christmas trees. My daughter was jumping up and down after ballet class ( her classes are all bar work right now so she is not real excited after class) yesterday as she knew we would be putting up the Christmas trees that evening. It makes me feel blessed that I could help to pass on the joy and excitement of the season to my kids.
The next three weeks will be filled with decorating for the holidays at Casa Berry. This activity culminates in a holiday tea that my friends and I hold for a group of about 60 ladies. A big part of the tea is a tour of the doll room and all the lovely stories and conversations that this room inspires. Most every person has a Barbie story or experience to share. There are usually fashion things to discuss as well and the “ If I were going out, I would wear that.” conversations. I will be sharing photos of the doll room as it gets dressed up for the holidays and will share a few photos of the holiday tea as well. For now, I will share the first few photos of holiday inspired themes.
Model: FR2 Most Wanted Elise ( Fashion Royalty Jet Set Convention Collection)
And my vision of this photo as a holiday card ![]()
I love this Elise! She has a softer color palette than previous Elise’s. I also really love the direction Integrity Toys and their designers are taking in jewelry design. The necklace and earrings that came with this lady are fabulous.
Simply Simpatico Poppy and Darla
It took me a bit of time to warm up to this Fashion Royalty Convention collection gift set. My tastes in collecting do not run towards the mod era so the clothing for many of the convention collection offerings were not what I prefer. I decided to play around with this gift set and see what I could do as far as redressing and restyling. I just love it when I find a diamond in the rough with a doll. That is what this Poppy and Darla are for me. I restyled the bangs and dressed Ms. Poppy in a favorite Bogue’s Vogues and now I LOVE her. Ms. Darla took a trip to Boutique de Bogue as well and I am really appreciating the new face sculpt on her.

Vivid Impact Agnes
Many collectors panned this Agnes at convention. I suppose her hair was not what everyone was expecting. On one of the doll boards the hair was compared to Endora of Bewitched….ouch! When I first removed her from the box, I could see what some were saying. The curls did sit a bit too high on her head. I decided to try and tame it down some and I like the end result. I love me a high updo and you add red hair and curls to this and I’m a happy camper. I LOVE her. Oh and added bonus…the gown is purple…my daughters favorite color. ![]()
The gown is simple and elegant and the jewelry is fabulous. A little tiara comes with the jewelry and while it was cute, I just didn’t think she needed it. I like the option of having it though.
Beyond the Still Monogram
Thanks to a very gracious table mate, I was able to purchase this lovely lady at the F.R. Convention this year. I love the high couture look of the Monogram line by Integrity and this lady fits in very well with my collection. I was also impressed with the promotional photos of the up and coming Monograms for the holidays so I thought I would play around with some more dramatic lighting. Here is my first attempt at trying to sculpt the light into something different. While it isn’t perfect yet, I am liking the direction it’s taking.
This ladies jewelry is TO DIE FOR!
Beautiful Beaux–Dressmaker Details Convention Exclusive
I am a huge fan of Steven Fraser’s work so it can be no surprise that I purchased his Fashion Royalty Convention exclusive this year. He named it Beautiful Beaux and it is indeed beautiful. I adore the faux mink shrug with this.
The fashion is available at Windy City Dolls ( http://www.windycitydolls.com/dressmaker.htm)
**note** the necklace on the mannequin is NOT a part of this fashion. The gloves and the purse are.
After Convention–The Doll Hangover
I have run into this before with the National Barbie Convention so I have some experience with it. I must say though, the hangover from the Fashion Royalty Convention was and is…MAJOR. I think with Barbie conventions in the past, I have always had to ship my loot home so there was a delay between the actual convention and when I received all the goodies at home. This time, I was smart and packed a duffel bag for my clothing and was able to pack all the dolls in my suitcase. I am a deboxer so I had the luxury of deboxing at the hotel and having room to pack everything and take it home immediately. The instant gratification of all that convention swag was a dolly high such as I had never experienced before. I’m still reeling. ![]()
Here is the third day’s accumulation picture.
Now add in Day one and Day two…….
And here is the resulting doll explosion when I arrived home. Each item was removed from the suitcase and shared with my daughter….a show and tell of my convention experience.
And when we had exceeded the capacity of the Family Room, it spilled into the kitchen as well.
How on earth did I manage to get all this home??!! Sometimes it’s just better to accept and not ask LOL!
Fashion Royalty Convention 2011–Day Three
The third and last day of convention started with great anticipation. Who would the convention doll be???? We had received pieces at each meal to complete a giftset on the last night of the convention. I was under the assumption that that was the convention doll but oh noooooo. The giftset, I was told the night before, was in ADDITION to a separate convention doll. I was in shock. Therefore, I awoke with great anticipation of not one but two fantastic dolls at the evening event.
My schedule was as follows:
Wake up and consume massive amounts of coffee to get me going.
Morning – hit the competition and raffle rooms to take photos and visit the museum for photos.
Lunch – WClub FR2 luncheon
Afternoon – Workshop/seminar on how Integrity toy dolls are made.
Evening – Gala diner
I started out in the competition room where some serious diorama artists showed off their amazing work.
This one was my favorite and done by the amazing Audrey of Diva Details. It was a complete and unexpected gift to get to meet and spend some time with her at this convention. One of the many highlights of my convention experience!
Next up was a trip to the museum and what an experience that was. Since I am not the best with words, I will just let the pictures tell the story. This museum showcased some rare prototype items from Alain Tremblay’s ( Market Director for Integrity Toys) personal collection.
Here was one item in the the museum that I would just die to see produced….I don’t care how much it would cost ( well I do care but I would pay big bucks LOL!).
LUGGAGE!! I mean there is a steamer trunk!!!!
And a portable bar!!!! Oh please could they produce these….contact Alain Tremblay at Integrity Toys if you want to see these produced. If enough of us beg him, he may relent and get them produced heeeehee.
Okay enough of me and my luggage fetish…on to the rest of the museum.
The new Breakfast at Tiffany’s line was there as well as the new Monograms coming out for the holiday’s. Also, the new Poppy Parker and Darla prototypes that have not been released were there and they were really cute. I think they look better in real life than in their promo shots.
After the museum, it was time for the luncheon. This was an event where we did not have assigned seating so it was find a friend and sit down. Once you found a table you were greeted with this fantastic centerpiece doll. A lovely FR2 Tatyana “Exceptional” Three people from each table were selected at random to win a chance to buy her. Thanks to the lovely and gracious Judy at our table, I was able to purchase her…yipeeee!
Each place setting was set with this.
The box was a set of mini acrylic ghost chairs. How adorable! The envelope was a surprise……oh what could it be?!
** Photo is a snapshot of photo that is property of Integrity Toys Inc. **
Surprise!! Many people were upset by the recent change in the Vanessa face mold so Integrity Toys made an old sculpt Vanessa doll on a FR2 body available for purchase by all WClub Convention attendees. How exciting!! Did I buy her you ask? Well Duh!
Well…once I retrieved my “smoking” credit card back from Integrity Toys, I awaited the start of a workshop/seminar on how Integrity Dolls are made. They did not allow any photos or videos of this workshop. It was very informative and I enjoyed learning about the different processes and components that go into manufacturing each and every doll. Given the number of steps they go through and how many of those steps have to be redone because something is not right, I am amazed that they are able to produce the number of dolls that they do. From time to time there can be errors in production such as the trouble with Malicious’ necklace. It was a production error for which they take full and complete responsibility. After this seminar, and understanding a bit more about the process, I am shocked that there have not been many more production issues. It really is a fairly complex and many times a frustrating process. At the end of the seminar, we learned that we had been seeing photos of a doll being produced and it was available for purchase by anyone who attended the workshop. Yep…got in the line for that one too heehee. I think she is gorgeous!
At last, it was time to get ready for the Gala Diner and see the unveiling of the giftset doll AND find out who the convention doll is. I had some fun with some dear convention friends old and new before the ballroom opened up.
We entered the ball room and were immediately struck by the centerpiece dolls. Oh my word!! I instantly fell in love. I mean it was PINK! Ladies and Gentleman, may I present Beyond the Still Monogram.
A huge and heartfelt “Thank You!!” to Bittersweet who was sitting at my table. She graciously allowed me to purchase this lovely lady. This is one of my favorites from the convention. Just love her!
At each of our place settings there was the giftset doll “Point of Departure”Eugenia! ( ** pardon the blurry photos….it’s the best I could do with a cell phone camera…but hey…I could upload it directly to flickr that way
)
** Photo is a snapshot of photo that is property of Integrity Toys Inc. **
After a lovely dinner, Jason Wu took the stage with his Integrity team and announced as they were celebrating their 10 year anniversary, it was only fitting that the convention doll should be the lady that started it all off for them…….Veronique. Fashion Royalty 2011 Convention doll “ Air Apparent” Veronique
** Photo is a snapshot of photo that is property of Integrity Toys Inc. **
Now…..how on earth do I get all this stuff home???!!!! To be continued…..
Fashion Royalty Convention Day two continued….
It was a packed day and it started early. Chicago at dawn.
I wanted to get down to the sales room to pick up the IT direct exclusives that I had tickets for. The process to pick up everything was incredibly organized and well run. I had my bag of goodies in no time and was off to my next event.
Next stop was Design a Doll Studio. There were 8 different dolls you could choose, four outfits and four jewelry packs. The selection was amazing and there were additional jewelry and clothing packs for purchase. You could choose to have your dolls eyes enhanced by the amazing Jon Copeland . His work simply blows me away. I am in absolute awe of the repaint work that he does.
Once you dressed your doll, you could pose them in one of two fantastic dioramas done by Jakki Peters
Soooo much fun!
After playing with the Dynamite Girls, I headed to the Poppy Luncheon. The centerpiece doll was a stunner.
I was not eligible to win another centerpiece since I had already won one ( Kyori, yeah!) but I was really excited for whoever was going to win this beauty. That honor went to a dear tablemate…lucky dog. At the luncheon, David Buttry gave us some information on the direction his Poppy designs are taking in the future. Poppy will be moving into the 60’s and the Mod era. We were also given a small preview of “Chip” Poppy’s boyfriend. Mr. Buttry announced he should be arriving next year. I am not sure how a new Mod era Poppy is going to fit into my collection but David assured the crowd that he will still be doing some more classic 50’s era styling along with the Mod era. I was happy to hear that.
** Photos are snapshots of photo that is property of Integrity Toys Inc. **
At the end of the luncheon, we were gifted with a Poppy Parker doll. She is absolutely adorable!
I spent the rest of the afternoon in a rerooting workshop and photographing the competition room and museum ( pictures tomorrow). The evening dinner was The Color Infusion Groovy Pucci Fashion Party. The centerpiece doll was called “ Psychedelic Splash” and was a Color Infusion doll.
** Photo is a snapshot of photo that is property of Integrity Toys Inc. **
We learned that there will be three new Monogram dolls ( yipeeee!) for the holidays. They are gown dolls and they shared photos.
** Photos are snapshots of photos that is property of Integrity Toys Inc. **
These lovely ladies are gorgeous! I contacted my dealer immediately. It was extremely convenient that she was sitting at the table with me LOL!
We were also given a lovely Color Infusion doll called “Sunset Rave”
** Photo is a snapshot of photo that is property of Integrity Toys Inc. **
It was another incredible day for me at my first Fashion Royalty convention. Here is a photo of todays accumulation. I can’t get over the amount of stuff we are getting as gifts and new products were are able to purchase. I believe a trip to the UPS shipping room is in my future. ![]()
