Poetic Beauty Enters the Studio
Things have been crazy busy at ITFDS since July. Since the National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention, I have been in production mode for the Integrity Toys convention and that left very little time for anything else…taking photos or blogging. I need to work out a better schedule…. obviously!
In the craziness that was August through July, there were some very high points for my collection. One such moment was when I won the opportunity to purchase the Poetic Beauty Lilith and Eden gift set.
They are inspired, I believe, by the 2016 Pre fall Louis Vuitton collection..feel free to check out the photos in my original post about these dolls. Eden/Lilith is one of my all time favorite face molds and the fact that this gift set was offered in this lottery made me both excited and filled with anxiety. This was a lottery I REALLY wanted to win. I consider myself very lucky to have succeeded in this and was able to purchase.
I adore the facial screening on these dolls and the clothing was edgy, current and perfect for these young sister characters. The real highlight, however, in this set were the accessories.
It wasn’t the fact that you got 2 Louis Vuitton inspired purses but THE SHOES and those tasseled earrings. The execution and attention to detail on these accessories also deserves special comment. Really well done people…exceptional.
And…since the name of this gift set was Poetic Beauty…I had to pull out some Lord Byron….had to do it.
This set is one of IT’s best in my humble opinion. I adore every aspect of it so I will let Lord Byron finish this post with,

Coquettish in the Sunshine
The first release from Integrity Toy’s 2017 Fashion Royalty La Femme collection has entered The Fashion Doll Studio! I really didn’t think I was going to be able to do any shots in the natural sunshine today as we have smoky haze( welcome to the Pacific Northwest and all of it’s summer forest fires) but it has turned the light this really cool pinkish red so I thought “ why not!” Keep in mind that these shots are done through a pinkish red filter which gives Jordan’s skin a rosier hue than normal.

Love this mocha skin tone and the honey blond tresses on this lady. One of the softest Jordan’s I have seen in a while. The clothing is on trend and the quality is good. the fabric is nice and supple as well as the pants. The bustier has a nice leather feel and fits well. The real stars of this show are the accessories though.
Gorgeous from head to toe! That purse though….oh…my…word!!! I am loving the details of this first release from the Fashion Royalty 2017 collection. Can’t wait for future releases!!

Wow right?!! I realize ( and totally relate to) that some are completely turned off by the fact that the shorts look was sported by Kendell Jenner on a red carpet event but lets not forget…the original look was designed by Alexandre Vauthier.
How adorable is that little butterfly headband?!! And I love the blue and white print with the facial screening of this doll. Soft and elegant. I don’t know who the design inspiration was for the gown but the feeling for me is that soft mystical feel of the recent Dior couture shows by Maria Grazia Chiuri ,formally of Valentino. I love the whimsy coupled with edginess of this giftset. It’s a full meal deal! This addition to the Nu.Face line is also part of the “Heirloom” collection so the backstory reveals that the little butterfly crown has been passed down through generations in Erin’s family. Sweet story. I am really enjoying the fun Jessy appears to be having with this line.

Agnes is Merveilleuse!!
I don’t think you need a translator to realize that this says Agnes is marvelous. For quite a while now, it has been an Integrity Toy’s WClub custom to offer up an “event doll” made available to members when they hold a webinar. It’s a nice little perk for members and it’s always in addition to the club dolls offered up as part of the WClub membership. You get the right to purchase this doll just for being a WClub member. Many collectors take advantage of this deal. The doll offered up for this years 2017 Nu.Face and Fashion Royalty collections was very special. 2017 Fashion Royalty Collection Revealed!!
Yep…you see it in the logo above, this years collection is about the woman. As an added treat for collectors, Integrity Toys gave Jessy Ayala the drivers seat in this years FR collection. The theme seems to have been set with the initial WClub offering earlier this year of Riviera Drama Agnes. While Jessy may be taking the theme of bold colors and super chic from the Riviera, there are some definite detours. He has taken the theme and used it to celebrate femininity…in it’s romantic iterations as well as it’s strength. He ends with the power suit to end all power suits. Well bring on La Dolce Vita! I am getting a very strong Dolce and Gabbana vibe with this one. A perfect ensemble for relaxing on the Riviera. Sadly we don’t have an image of the back of this blouse but it looks to be amazing too. Adore the pink head scarf here. Perfect touch with the dark hair. She needed a glamorous pair of sunglasses to complete this look. The facial screening is reminiscent of Going Public Eugenia and me loves!! This is cool classic elegance. There is a Fendi feel to that purse 
I love the doll on this one…let me just put that out there. Beautiful auburn hair on cream skin tone with soft facial screening and a Vanessa 3.0 sculpt. What is not to love about that. The outfit…well..it’s not my favorite..and not really getting a Riviera vibe either. I adore the accessories. The shirt with the bow detailing…love. I am not sure I would pair it with the black lace skirt and I for sure would not throw an animal print wrap over the top of it. This outfit was the weakest showing IMO of the entire line. I like the components, just not together. The sweatheart topstitch on the shirt gives it almost a western feel so not sure where that fits into this high glamour Riviera feel Jessy has going.

Holy flippin’ Zorro people!! I believe I fainted when I saw this one…then recovered quickly and put this doll as #1 on my buy list. What do I start with…That color on Adele…brilliant!! The scarf with the hat…inspired! The belted suit….sublime!! The accessories…perfection!! The facial screening…sultry and strong….LOVE!! This was IMO the strongest look of this collection. My only complaint is not sure how this fits in with a Riviera theme. It’s definitely showcases strong and feminine but not necessarily Riviera chic. Doesn’t change the fact that I am buying it though

Oh my!! A tanned Elyse!! Again I hope the lottery Gods are kind. There is a high edition size on this one so that’s at least comforting. Now this lady is definitely on theme for the Riviera. She just needs a Pucci scarf to tie around the swimsuit. Love this duel bottom leg concept too. Makes it very versatile. Another point that I didn’t make in this or the previous blog post about Nu.Face was the fact that these bodies don’t have the waist joint so there is this very smooth waist on them and it allows to show off the midriff without that pesky joint. Very nice.
I am so happy to see the uber talents of Jessy Ayala displayed in not one but two different collections this year. I feel his strongest showing was definitely in the Nu.Face line but the young man has some serious fashionista styling when it comes to the FR big hitters. While the cohesiveness might not have been as strong in the FR line as Nu.Face it still packed a punch with some really stellar moments. This collection’s Adele will be talked about for years and years. I would also like to give Integrity Toys and it’s design team a big thumbs up for the improved diversity in this line.

2017 Integrity Toys Nu.Face Collection Revealed!!
This collection marks Jessy Ayala’s second season as lead designer for the Nu.Face line and he has not disappointed. He has provided a collection rich in color and nostalgia while keeping it edgy and current. This collection seems to draw inspiration from the 2016 Louis Vuitton fashion shows as well as the accessories. Let’s take a moment to talk about the accessories. They are BEYOND people. Jessy’s attention to every minute detail in this line amazes and astounds. If you love Louis Vuitton bags…you will love this line. Jessy explained in the webinar that his basic inspiration for this line drew on objects of value..heirlooms. He explained there are romantic notes with rich jewel tone colors and a definite haunted mansion feel. Therefore, each doll has some kind of heirloom in her set. Also important to note, all of the characters have last names now! So enough of my blathering…let’s get to the dolls.

Wow!! while this is not the style I collect ( the high cut legs on the bodysuit have the Mom in me saying “ nope “ ), I can appreciate the styling. The accessories are beyond again. The heirloom of this look is the bracelet. Those tassel earrings are all that and a bag of chips too. The glasses add to the overall motocross vibe with the pants. I am again amazed at the details of this ensemble. Look at all those topstitched seams in those pants! Holy Cow! The facial screening on this lady is flat out gorgeous and I considered getting this one just for the doll. Will most likely regret it later but I passed. I love how that mulberry stripe in the pants is brought forward by the lip color. I also appreciate the two tones of soft greyish blue Jessy has paired with the rich black and vibrant berry color. Yummmmmm!

For me, this lady is all about that silver hair and sulrty eyes. I’m not super excited about the lavender hued lips but that can be tweaked some. In the early days of Integrity Toy’s collections, there were offerings of lingerie dolls and Jessy is bringing that bag around with this heirloom theme. Love that.

Oh…my…word. My heart can’t take much more LOL! The heirloom in this set is the brush. The baby blonde tresses and softened facial screening bring out the romance in this set.

This set has me all gooey inside. LOVE!! All the accessories alone would have me buying but the twins ( especially Lilith) are my favorites. That leather crossover vest on Eden…Dying! Lilith’s entire outfit has me fainting. Add in the LV bags and I’m a goner. Oh lottery Gods, may you shine favorably on me…or…in the event I miss out on this one…may you give me sharp elbows with which to battle in the secondary market for this set.
So that is the Nu.Face collection for this year. Wow!! Don’t you feel like you have eaten a really good meal at a Michelin starred restaurant?!! There were so many highlights of this collection that I can’t pick a favorite doll. I would have to give the win to the detailed accessories though and the general cohesiveness and feel of the collection. There was something for everyone I think. If you wanted soft romantic, you got it…if you wanted edgy fierce…you got that too. I also think Mr. Ayala has given the market that youthful fashion forward vibe that many collectors have been wanting to return to Nu.Face. This look is current. It is now and extremely marketable. Excellent job done by the young rising talent of Jessy Ayala and smart of Integrity Toys to bring him on board.
Poppy’s London Adventure!–The Swinging London Poppy Parker Collection
David Buttry gave us a sneak peak and a couple tastes of where he was going with his 2017 Poppy Parker collection at the 2016 Integrity Toys Convention last year. Here were some of the slides he shared.

Now I am the first one to say the 60’s are not my favorite fashion era but David Buttry has really put time and effort into the story and detail on these. How adorable is she?!! I absolutely adore the accessories in this one. Can we all remember ( well all of us in a certain age bracket) the clear plastic umbrellas we toted to school every day?! Love the little collared sleeveless dress. Surprisingly enough though..I did not get this one. The overly bright pink lips, while totally accurate for the swinging 60’s were just too vivid for me. Okay…so this was the first doll in my shopping cart for this collection and I will give you one guess as to why. Do you need a hint? It’s in the accessories picture. Come on..I’m a photographer! Yep, that little camera had me all gooey inside. The watch and pink gloved hands also added to the appeal along with the soft facial screening and pastel tweed of this suit. But the camera…this is all about the camera for me. By the 1960’s the 35mm camera had all but taken over. What is that?…is it an old Halina 35x…could be an Spotmatix. Yes, I am THAT much of a camera geek. Anywhoo…Thank you David for this one. Love her and absolutely ADORE her accessories.
David Buttry and the Integrity Team also added a nice little dessert into this collection. The WClub offered up an event exclusive doll…not a lottery doll but a doll available to all club members. Love the facial screening on this one. Very reminiscent of Out of this World Poppy Parker and I adore that one too. For this design, David explained that she is acting in a spooking TV show called “Misty Hollows” hence the candle stick accessory. Nicely done Mr. Buttry.
As a whole, I found the first wave of this collection, from the initial offerings at last years convention to the new dolls just revealed this Friday, entirely cohesive and spot on for the time period it advertised. There was some diversity as far as skin tones and their was range within the line. What I mean by that is there were some more refined looks along with fun, flirty and hip. For those not entirely excited by the fashions of the 1960’s there were stellar accessories and beautiful facial screenings to admire and act as an enticement to buy. A well thought out and cohesive lineup in my opinion. Mr. Buttry stayed true to his vision as expressed at the 2016 convention while trying to appeal to the very diverse collecting tastes of the Poppy Parker collector community. Not an easy thing to do. It’s a very fine needle to thread but I feel David Buttry has successfully done it with this collection.

I am feeling an Elie Saab vibe here…the picture below is from his 2017 Resort collection. The fact that he used wedge shoes also with this look makes me think this was one of the inspirations for this look.
So…how do I feel about this reveal? I love the facial screening! Green eyes on a pale skinned raven Agnes…yummm! Also kind of happy they went with the nude lip. It feels very on trend for right now. This also makes her infinitely more re-dressable. I am thrilled that the jumpsuit isn’t black. I think jewel tones definitely fit with the “Riviera” theme. I adore the jewelry! What concerns me is the fabric shown. I don’t know if it flows like the original design does. It looks kind of stiff to me but then…that could just be the image and how the model is posed. Also…what is with this purse? Did they want to go for Christmas colors? I don’t think I would have chosen red. I may be in a minority here but I like the wedge shoes. It’s more casual and we don’t have shoes like this so if I want to dress this outfit up, I can certainly find a pair of black strappy sandals in my IT box. Also, I am hoping the hair isn’t too “crunchy” as in…stiff. It looks like it might be though. It does help with those annoying flyaways that I end up editing out in PS later anyway

Meet You at East 59th!
Wow!! Wow, Wow, Wow is all I can say of Integrity Toys newest product line. For those of us who have been waiting for the return of our beloved Victoire Roux…the waiting just got a little sweeter. While we did not get a new Victoire, we did receive some of her friends and this new world that IT has created looks to be amazing! The director of this yumminess is the uber talented Chris Stoeckel. While we did not get Victoire in this new release, we did get word that she is coming. {That sound in the background is Rebecca squealing with happiness}. The story behind this line is 1950’s Hollywood and a possible feud between competing divas..I’m thinking Joan Crawford/Betty Davis. With all that drama, you need killer fashions and who better to do that than Chris. We have loved his 1950s inspired couture in the Victoires of the past. It looks like his future designs will take us to a whole other level. Soooooo excited!

{FAINT!!!} Oh…my…word. I am traveling as I write this blog post and I was sitting at a restaurant yesterday morning when these pictures came into the WClub members inboxes. I am absolutely sure I embarassed myself when I squealed with delight on this one. Where to start with the love…..hmmmm. Ok, first is the color combinations. Cocktails indeed! I know I will need a few after this collection to lament my poor, poor wallet. I have a think for well tailored suits. This one is perfection I love both sets of gloves with these looks The driving gloves in particular! Simple jewelry is perfect here as the suit s the star. The shoes..oh why oh why with the plastic. I’m sound like a broken record…I know. The facial screening on her is my least favorite of this collection but not a deal breaker. I’m still buying.
The big questions from me and many collectors is…what is the body on this lady? Is it FR2, Victoire…enquiring minds want to know. I am sure we will get answers soon. At the time this goes to print there will be a live chat with the designer Chris Stoeckel. I am sure he will give us this info.
I hate the write and run but I am on he road driving a bunch of orchestra instruments and luggage back from L.A. Will hopefully have more information to share with you tomorrow.

I Believe in Fairytales!

Reckless Smoke and Mirrors
No…I’m not doing a current political climate op-ed. WClub members woke up to some much anticipated and exciting news. The highly anticipated lottery for Trouble Eden was announced. That alone would have people anxious and excited.

Integrity Toy’s “The Industry” 2017 Revealed
Integrity Toy’s made their first collection reveal to the newly minted 2017 WClub the other day and all I can say is Wow! it’s a doozy! As Dolce and Gabbana and many other designers are going to the so called millennials for inspiration and a new ad campaigns, David Buttry appears to be pulling from the same pool…at least with the fashions and accessories.
Millennials = consisting of individuals born between 1982 and 2004.
There have been a lot of positives and negatives written about Millennials. I will stick with the positive. It has been noted that they grew up in an electronics-filled and increasingly online and socially-networked world. This helps to explain some of the many new and fabulous accessories that come with this collection. Hope you enjoy.

These accessories!!! A MUST have. As to the question…”Will Rebecca buy a doll just for the accessories?”. Well…yes she will. I do also like the look of this doll but he is very similar to the Ace McFly doll they produced a couple of conventions ago. I’m still getting him though as the girls and guys in my collection need their makeup artist .
David Buttry and his team did an amazing job with this first full scale ‘The Industry” collection. The accessories alone make this capsule collection worth a look-see. My only complaint is that…there is a WHOLE lot of black going on here. It would be nice to see more color coming in. And also on the subject of black, there was also an absence of it…as in skin tone. I would have liked to have seen an AA model in this lineup. There are, however, a whole lot of mix and match pieces that will be fun to pair with other outfits in my collection and I look forward to being the mini stylist with those and sharing on the blog. I can definitely see my Out of Sight Nadja in many of these outfits.

So…this year Integrity Toys and the WClub did things a little differently. They basically polled the 2016 WClub members to see what face mold, skin tone and hair color combination they would like to see in a club upgrade doll. They gave members a little over 2 weeks to vote and here are the results.
It would appear that the majority of members voted for a cream skin toned, raven haired Agnes. This was actually my vote so I’m kind of stoked to see the actual product. I have to admit…I am a little nervous about ordering a doll that I have only seen a sketch of but it is what I voted for so I’m in.
