Poppy Parker 2014 Reveal
The theme for this years very popular Poppy Parker line is “The Girl from I.N.T.E.G.R.I.T.Y.” Poppy and her friends are spies for this collection. The accessory of the collection is a gun. Each doll comes with one. Gun control issues aside for a moment, it is kind of a cute accessory for this theme…if one can call a gun “cute”. There were some big surprises with the reveal this year. The biggest one was the addition of the quick switch head feature in the Poppy Parker line. This means Poppy’s head can be popped off ( yes…pun intended) and switched to another head. In this case, it is the villain ( Loni Lawrence who is called Sebina in this collection) who can quickly disguise herself as Poppy…or evil Poppy as she is being called. COOL!!! Second surprise of the collection was the addition of two spy agent friends Penelope Chase (Collette face mold) and Kimiko Gunn(Ayumi face mold). This is brilliant in my opinion. It is a great way to bring back some favorite collector face molds in new and fresh ways. The designers at I.T. never fail to impress me with their creativity in this. Nice work David!

Wow!! Poppy Parker in a cat suit with a gun holster. Guess she is all grown up now. I love the look of this one and I really like the black gloved hands she comes with. Will most definitely be using those on other Poppy’s as well. I adore my 60’s Poppy “The Happpening” from last year so I am liking this cinnamon haired version. Boots should have been just a touch taller…IMO.

A spy in gold lamé! She is not a low profile spy. Gold lamé has never been my thing but it screams 60’s . I love that David Buttry paired it with this mint green. Goldfinger has got nothing on this girl….if you want gold…it’s here.

How adorable is she?!! Nothing this sweet could keep a gun in her purse…come on…even if it is pink. I guess that is why she will make a very good spy. Nobody would expect it.

But Wait!!! There’s More!!!
I was on the fence about getting this Loni version because I adore the streak in her hair but then I.T. threw in the quick switch silver haired Poppy head ….Game Over…I’m buying. Brilliant idea to try out the quick switch head model with this collection. We needed an evil Poppy to go with this theme and it’s a perfect way to do it. This is also a very satisfying way to honor Poppy’s 5th anniversary for collectors. Thank you David and Integrity Toys!

Does this guy come off as looking like a ferret to you? He does to me. I guess it is appropriate for an evil spy. I see this one and all I can hear in my head is the sprocket theme from SNL and the German accented phrase “ Would you like to pet my monkey?” He is very cool and I love the Euro chic black leather jacket. I can’t get past the ferret face though.

Does she carry the gun in her handbag? Will it fit? These are the insane questions that keep me up at night LOL! Perhaps she can hide it under the shoulder bow. Okay, okay…I digress. I love the soft updo with this one. The pink gown with black stitching and beading is beautifully feminine. The jewelry is fabulous as well. I am not feeling the “Mayhem” but I can definitely see this one going to the casino in search of the ferret faced Lex.

Arm candy indeed!!! This one is worth it for the jacket alone. I mean come on…the portrait just oooozes the phrase “Bond….James Bond”. Don’t they make the perfect couple?! He needed to have secret spy documents in the briefcase or at least a grenade or something right. Does the watch cut through a door? Probably.
There was also some information and a picture released about a Poppy Parker shoe pack coming in August/September. It was listed as another IT direct release which most likely means….lottery. Picture is available to WClub members on the Vimeo release of the Webinar. Members should have received info with instructions on how to access it.
This was a really fun collection. I am not a big fan of the 60’s fashions but I found myself ordering quite a few of these because they were just so dang fun and cute. Excellent work David and I.T.
Information on the other two lines, Jem and Fashion Teen Poppy coming up later today.
Integrity Toys Reveals FR/FR2 for 2014
This past Saturday morning, WClub members were treated to the release of information on 4 of Integrity Toy’s product lines. I will be sending out 4 different blog posts to give information on these lines. If you are interested in any of these items, you should contact an Integrity Toys Dealer ASAP to secure your selection. Many of these items are already selling out as WClub members were allowed to order early.
First reveal up is the 2014 FR line. This years “Safari” inspired collection was a collaboration between designers Vaughn Sawyer and Jason Wu. This years collection focuses on the 8 core characters going forward with the new FR/FR2 concept. I would call it “Safari Chic” with some especially fine detailed accessories. It is a strong and fairly cohesive collection. I adore the color palette used in everything. The facial screenings are strong and sophisticated. The accessories are amazingly detailed (check out all the patterns and stitching on the purses alone).

I adore the boots in this outfit and that bag! I was kind of bummed I did not pick up the gorgeous Natalia at convention last year…now I get to make up for it. One critique though…could we please see some other kind of hairstyle on poor Natalia. The girll has had the same hairstyle for the last couple of releases.

Holy accessories batman! You had me at the shoes…at the shoes. The bag is a miniature copy of the Jason Wu “Jordan” bag. I love the soft neutral colors of this one. I also love the new facial screenings in this collection…most evident in this Kyori. Again, this is all about the details…and there were plenty to admire in this entire collection. I love the cross lacing on the skirt.

I am not feeling the dress. It’s different but it feels kind of clumpy on her. Also, I am a lover of updo’s…you all know this…but I am feeling a little “updo fatigue” with this one. Her face is beautiful and I love the raven hair. I am not sold on the lip color yet but I think it is workable. I really like the jewelry. Has anyone “easily” gotten that hair comb thingy to work yet? If so share how you did it. Enquiring minds would love to know. I am still going to order but I think she will be redressed fairly quickly.
WClub members have until Monday,April 14th at noon EST to order.
Time for a Spring Fling…

A Wonderful Evening
Evening in Montreal Victoire has arrived and she is a stunner! I knew I was going to love this lady by her promo shots. The actual doll does not disappoint. I shared some quick shots of this lady on my Flickr account but managed to take some better shots yesterday in the sunshine.
I adore this magnetic pin! It makes it sooo much easier to place AND no chance that it will leave a hole in delicate fabric. Smart choice Integrity!
Evening in Montreal Victoire
I have to admit, I am a bit behind on reporting Integrity Toys(IT) news for the first part of this year. A few weeks ago, The WClub announced a new IT direct lottery for the popular character Victoire Roux.

The Lottery was held today and I believe most all who wanted a chance to purchase her in the WClub were able to get her. It is really nice when that happens. It means IT is accurately gauging the demand of a product and providing an adequate supply. Everybody walks away happy. When I first saw this lady, I thought “ Oh man….not another black cocktail gown!.” She is ,in fact, wearing chocolate brown. That makes her more interesting. Mostly, however, I like the facial screening with the platinum updo. I was hoping to win the chance to purchase and am a happy camper with my fellow WClub members who are all celebrating our chance to purchase her. She is due to hit peoples doorsteps as early as next week. ![]()

Fashion Inspiration
Happy New Year everyone! I hope this year will be full of new and interesting fashion doll news that we can talk about and share here. Fashion Inspiration is always a fun thing to speculate on when a new set of dolls is released from Mattel or Integrity Toys. There are some very good fashion sleuths in our collecting community that post possible inspirations for these new and old fashion dolls. I don’t know if it is the history lover or the fashion lover in me that enjoys this information. I guess it doesn’t really matter..I just think it is fun to see the possible inspiration that designers at Mattel or IT use to design a particular doll.
My friend Hilda of Bellissima Couture found a fashion and posted it on Pinterest the other day. It was a dress by Jason Wu and I instantly recognized it. It was a gown I had seen on a Fashion Royalty doll. It was not surprising…given that Jason Wu designed the doll for Integrity Toys.
Typically, a doll is released and I love to look back in history at fashion shows of popular designers to see if I can spot an inspiration. It started me thinking…Jason Wu started as a doll designer…was there inspiration coming the other way? In other words, could we look back at previous doll designs and see inspiration for the amazing designer he was to become. I think I may have found a few.
Whichever way inspiration goes, from the fashion world to the doll design arena or vice versa, that connection with fashion past and present is a big part of collecting for me. It is so interesting to me to see how they influence each other.
I am looking forward to another year of fashion inspiration and doll collecting. I hope you are too ![]()

Helloooooooo subscribers! No, I did not fall into a hole although it kind of feels like I did. I have multiple blog post devoted to what I have been up to coming up in the next week and there will be pictures. Suffice it to say…things have been a little crazy Inside The Fashion Doll Studio for the past two months.
Now that I have given you that little teaser, I need to share the photos and information that Integrity Toys released about the last WClub doll for 2013. They saved a beauty for the last one. If you are WClub member and have not purchased this one yet, you need to be quick. Your window of opportunity closes tomorrow December, 16th at 11:00AM EST.

I love the facial screening on this one. It is very neutral and soft…definitely my preference. I adore the accessories, especially the shoes. The dress…well…I will add my comments to what some of my fellow bloggers have already said and say it gives off a very generic pink label Barbie feel. Maybe it will improve upon in hand inspection but I am just not feeling it. I think I would have been much happier with a hemline that wasn’t asymmetrical and tricked out in ruffles and tulle. To me, this lady calls for something way more sophisticated and classic. Just my humble opinion. Does it mean I am not purchasing this one? Oh please….now what do you think? LOL! I believe the key word here will be REDRESS.
2013 IT Convention Thoughts and Reflections
Now that the dust has settled…just a bit…and the bags have been unpacked (still waiting on boxes though), I am sitting back and reflecting with my cup of morning coffee. What did I think of this year’s convention? First and foremost, I think I need to say a huge “Thank You!” to the Newsum family and the staff at Integrity Toys for an incredible experience. Integrity Toys is owned and run by the Percy Newsum but it looks like the entire family comes to help out at these conventions. The family-owned and run business is a dying breed in our fast-paced eBay-buying, Amazon-downloading world of consumerism. All of the designers are also present and mingling with people. IT Marketing Director Alain Tremblay and Carol Roth who are often the voice and face of Integrity — especially during the company webinars — are ever-present emceeing the events and working the crowd. I can’t even quantify how lovely it is to interact with the people who actually help bring this wonderful product to our homes. It is a connection that makes me feel good about buying the product and that is just not something you can buy in this world market. It is carefully cultivated and, in my opinion, it is smart business. You leave these conventions feeling like you are a very valued customer and an honored guest. I have to give a shout out to table 22 here as well. This lovely group of ladies and one gentleman hosted by the fabulous Hilda made my daughter and I feel like honored guests too. A big “Thank you” from the bottom of my heart for making my daughter’s first IT convention super special and fun. Words cannot express how wonderful you were to her {sniff, sniff} and that means more to this Mom than you know.
I also want to thank my readers..many of whom came up to me at convention and gave me a verbal and actual hug when they said how much they enjoyed the blog, flickr photos and/or youtube videos. I really appreciated and loved the comments from people as I posted and I will endeavor to be better about responding to blog comments in the future.
My college degree is in business and finance so the evolution of this business is infinitely fascinating to me. It is the Disney model of business: bring people in, give them a happy and fun experience and they will open their pocket books. Give them an exceptional experience and that pocket book opens wider. This event was extremely well organized. This convention, in my opinion, had one of the strongest convention collections I have seen. There was something for just about everyone. The looks were elegant, strong, edgy in places and sublimely vintage couture in others. The accessories…jewelry, shoes etc…were excellent as well. The shoes in particular were a big bonus because every exquisite pair was another choice of shoe the FR2 body foot could wear. Collectors of the FR2 line have long lamented the need for more shoes for this body type. Because there was an extra meal event this year, most conventioneers had the opportunity to purchase at least two centerpieces…some even had the chance to purchase three. Three out of the four events had an absolutely beautiful gift doll given as a gift. I realize that this year was special being the 10 year anniversary and this kind of swag is not de rigueur for conventions going forward but WOW was it nice to receive. The quality of these gifts was really exceptional. This was not your average convention, folks. I think we all walked away with that feeling. My only negative comment and it is a minor one, was the discovery that the “Black Orchid” Vanessa’s dress is not easily removable. This was a centerpiece doll for the final dinner and she was dressed in a Jason Wu runway design. It works out great if you want to leave her in this dress…not so great for us redressers. Hilda was able to snip a strap and fashion a fix for me. The only way to remove the dress without snipping a strap is to take the doll’s head off. I was just too chicken to do that with this doll (afraid I would mess up the amazing updo).
So what was the total take away swag you might ask…well…. the doll haul from this event broke down like this. **Note: The list below does not include style lab dolls. I don’t collect these dolls so I did not attend the style lab. Sorry 😦 **

Midnight Star Elise Jolie Convention Doll
Not a bad haul eh? About this time, many collectors complain about the steep markup many of these dolls sell for in the secondary market (eBay or doll boards etc.) Keep in mind that conventioneers paid around $425-450 a ticket to get in. Many if not most also had hotel and airline/travel cost in addition to this. There is also the issue of time spent standing in line to get into the sales room for extras and money spent shipping or incurring extra luggage fees getting all this loot home. I think it is just downright silly to expect conventioneers to sell convention items for the convention purchase price. The simple price of the centerpiece doll they purchased is not the total out of pocket cost for that doll. If you think the markup is too high, don’t buy it. Just sayin’
I also just have to add that when it came time to figure out how to get all of this loot home, Integrity was all over it. What I could not fit in my luggage, I had to ship. I flew out later in the afternoon Sunday so I went down to Integrity Toys’ shipping center around mid-morning. I had three boxes to ship (Hey!…no judging!!) and I was in and out of that shipping room in 10 minutes. A professional UPS store could not have done any better. It was fantastic!!
“So which ones are your favorites Rebecca?” {said in a television interviewer voice}…..
…Well…that is a really tough question. I would have to put Kyori high up on the list as well as the workshop and convention Elises. I am also a huge fan of the new FR2 body but am NOT a fan of the funky stands they come with. I am glad I have a large supply of stands from previous years.
Integrity Toys “The Premiere” Convention Day 2 Part II
Raffles and Workshops
I spent the afternoon looking at amazing raffle items competition entries. There are so many creative and talented collectors at this convention.
Competition entries for diorama:
Competition entries for design:
My favorite, a beautiful creation by my dear friend Hilda of Bellissima Couture
Incredible OOAK Raffle items:
Where all my raffle tickets went….. An amazing OOAK Victoire by Chris Stoekel.
My daughter and I also took an informative and hands on workshop with Matt Sutton where we all learned how to repaint Poppy’s face.
Many of us ( myself included) decided to just practice on paper instead of the doll. I had the pleasure of sitting next to the witty and talented John P. in this class.
When the workshop was over, it was time to get ready for dinner and another fabulous centerpiece doll to drool over…… Day Two, Part III coming up shortly.
Integrity Toys “The Premiere” Convention Day 1 Part II
The Convention Collection
This year, Integrity tried out something different for the sales room. They gave you a number based on when you signed up for convention. Those who signed up early, received a lower number and this allowed you to get into the sales room at specific times. It was done to cut down on the HUGE wait line that conventioneers had experienced in years past. Groups of about 50 were allowed in at a time depending on your registration number. It worked like a dream. I have to say it was the most pleasant shopping experience I have at in IT’s convention sales room. You had room to browse, take pictures and buy. Fabulous job Integrity Toys!
The Convention Collection was showcased in the center of the room.

Soooo sophisticated and haughty. Isn’t this Agnes’ general state of being? When I first saw her displayed in the sales room, she had the sunglasses on and I could not see her face so I was not impressed…
Then the glasses came off and I was a goner.
Paparazzi Darling
Adèle Makéda™ Dressed Doll

Loved, loved the pink top on this one. This was also a much softer look for Ms. Adele.

In my opinion, this lady embodied the theme of the convention collection the most. She is pure Hollywood premiere glamour. Adore her.
Star in the Making
Poppy Parker™ Dressed Doll
2013 Convention Collection Exclusive
{Thud!} Someone help Rebecca up off the floor again. I don’t think I could get my ticket out of my wallet fast enough to purchase this beauty. If you wanted a glamorous Poppy, this one will do it.
There were also a few Integrity Toys Direct products unveiled that were exclusive to the convention. Each conventioneer was given coupons to purchase 3 or 4 items from the line. The choices were:
A Fashion Royalty Shoe Pack
Tricks Up Her Sleeve Poppy Parker
ITBE In Sequins Anja
ITBE In Sequins Lilith
Fashion Creature Tulabelle
Let’s just say a few of these ladies came out of the sales room with me.
More photos are available on my Flickr feed. Feel free to have a look.

Integrity Toys “The Premiere” Convention Day 1 Part I
REGISTRATION
As many of you know who follow my convention reports, I always start out with a photo of command central. This is where I spend a chunk of my time late each night and early every morning.
This year since Hilda and I were selling at an event on the first day of convention, my reports are not as timely as I would have liked. So…on to the first days festivities.
Registration ran smoothly…mostly. What we experienced was that most conventioneers last names start with letters from A to K. The A-K line was HUGE. The K-Z line was a breeze! Once we got there, we received our packet of information and an absolutely beautiful Monogram doll.

The promo shots really do not do this one justice. In person, she is gorgeous. That’s why I included my crappy point and shoot shot to show you her face. Gorgeous!

She has the Elise face sculpt and her green eyes are absolutely incredible. Score one for Rebecca getting this one. I was really on the fence getting this one because all we were told was that it would be an Fashion Royalty doll. She is stunning!

Exceptional Tatyana
While the rest of the fashion world is focused on New York this weekend and the debut of designers 2014 spring ready to wear lines, ITFDS was focused on this fall. I love fall. I love the colors and the bite of cool temperatures that typically we awaken to in the Pacific Northwest this time of year. Another thing I love is to rediscover something I had put aside for a while and had not looked at. I do this a lot with dolls. I debox, photograph, then it is off to the next one. Even sweeter for me, is an opportunity to give a model their due. In other words, finally show or photograph something in a way that I have yet to be able to capture. I typically have something in my head that I want to capture when I photograph…but sometimes it just never transfers through the camera. That happened with this amazing Tatyana. Thanks to a very generous table mate at convention, I was able to purchase her and after deboxing, was never able to quite capture a set of photos I was happy with….until today.

What I am listening to in the studio this week:
The Journey
As many of you know, I have just returned from a month of traveling. It was the most amazing trip with my family and for a few glorious weeks some dear friends. The memories made during those travels are priceless and the new perspective I bring back with me every time I journey out of my own country is such a gift to me. I feel richer emotionally than when I left and so appreciative for all that I have seen, experienced and learned. My hope is that I can bring this into the pictures that I take.
For this set of photos, one of my new arrivals Ms. Splendid Jordan has just returned from a journey of her own. I wish I had her luggage…..

“All of life is a journey which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there.”
Wishing everyone a safe and happy journey today ![]()
Buenos Aires Victoire
It would appear that most if not all who wanted to obtain this fabulous Victoire, were able to do so. I had expressed a concern that she would be hard to obtain and I am happy to be wrong. Many collectors are pointing to an almost eerie evocation of Evita Peron in Chris Stoekel’s design. After receiving her, I can totally relate. More often than not, I open a highly anticipated doll and am a bit underwhelmed. Promotional shots are designed to show off the best side of a product and it is almost certain that there are times where the promo shots oversell an item. In the case of Ms. Buenos Aires, I am happy to report that the promo shots simply did not do her justice. She is even prettier in person. I always love when that happens. Of course this is only my opinion so take that into consideration.
Here are her “window” shots. ![]()

As Jem and the Holograms go…and I am not a collector of this line…I would have to say this bunch is the most interesting to me. Even though I have no plans to purchase, I can at least appreciate the detail that Integrity went to to reproduce these characters.

Christmas In July Take 1
Integrity Toys announced 4 new mini collections to it’s WClub members on Thursday and titled it “Christmas in July”. A word to the wise…when you talk up an event and label it “Christmas”, you better be sure to deliver. I’m not sure Integrity Toys hit their mark on that one. I know I was expecting something in the Nu.Face lineup and possibly something from the Homme line as well. Integrity offered nothing from either line and that has left many die hard Fashion Royalty fans feeling like they got up Christmas morning with high expectations only to receive Ralphie’s infamous pink bunny suit from “A Christmas Story”. Not a good thing.
For collectors who love 16 inch Poppy, Poppy Parker , Jem and the Holograms and Victoire Roux, this was worth the time you took off work to incessantly check and recheck your emails.
First up was a new set of lovelies from the 16 inch Poppy Parker Fashion Teen line. Per Alain Tremblay of Integrity Toys, each doll in this mini collection was inspired by a season.

I don’t collect the larger scale dolls simply because I barely have enough room for the 1/6 scale ladies as it is but I am sorely tempted by these fabulous 16 inch Poppys. Also, confirmed by Alain, Tulabelle’s and Poppy’s clothing is interchangeable. In other words, they can wear each others clothing so lots and mix and match options for this larger scale offerings from Integrity.
