Barbie for big girls.

Buenos Aires Victoire

It would appear that most if not all who wanted to obtain this fabulous Victoire, were able to do so.  I had expressed a concern that she would be hard to obtain and I am happy to be wrong.  Many collectors are pointing to an almost eerie evocation of Evita Peron in Chris Stoekel’s design.  After receiving her, I can totally relate.  More often than not, I open a highly anticipated doll and am a bit underwhelmed.  Promotional shots are designed to show off the best side of a product and it is almost certain that there are times where the promo shots oversell an item.  In the case of Ms. Buenos Aires, I am happy to report that the promo shots simply did not do her justice.  She is even prettier in person.  I always love when that happens.  Of course this is only my opinion so take that into consideration.

Here are her “window” shots.  Smile

Gorgeous pics of her Rebecca. I was so happy to get her too and Evita is exactly what I though when I opened her as well. She wears everything well and I think she is going to get lots of work. Hope your trip was awesome and enjoy the rest of the summer.

    • Thank you so much Brenda! I have noticed the gorgeous clothing you have given Ms. Victoire over the past weeks. Wonderful! I agree with you, she will be so much fun to redress and photograph.

  2. Hi, I love all your pics, your collection and also your website. The photos are such a big inspiration for me! I’m European collector (Slovakia) and it’s a bit problematic for me to get all dolls that I would like to own, but I’m not able to leave this hobby. 🙂
There are some dolls, that I can only admire on blogs like yours and I always look forward to another post :).
Victoire amazed me. Only one word: Perfection. That’s the best way to describe her :).

    • Thank you so much Lilly! What a lovely comment to come home to. This Victoire is indeed “perfection”. I am glad you are enjoying the blog and I commend your perseverance in staying with the hobby even though it is so difficult to obtain those wanted dolls. 🙂

At last new posts are pouring in!! 🙂 Am not really sure about Victoire. I feel like she lacking something or is it because I haven’t moved on from the discontinuation of the Monograms ? Oh well.

Just so you know, I am so happy to see updates from you. I have been blog hopping early this month hoping for the reviews on the latest releases from Integrity and my prayers have been answered. YAY!

    • Well I don’t know about pouring in 🙂 I am slowly but surely getting back into the rhythm of regular posting again. Perhaps you are still feeling the sting of the Monogram farewell with this Victoire. She is really quite beautiful. If you are interested in photos and thoughts of all the new releases…stay tuned. More to come.
