A Picnic in Paris
Now that Integrity Toys has announced their collections and all of our collector wallets are sad and limping, I thought it was time to return to Paris for some fun. The WClub Poppy Parker Exclusive arrived just after I returned from Barbiecon a few weeks ago. As with most conventions, I have spent the last couple of weeks going through my acquired treasures and getting over “The convention cold”. When you put around 1,000 people together in a ballroom for multiple events, and these same people get on average 4-5 hours of sleep a night…there is bound to be illness. So… now I am on the mend, I managed to snap some images of this new Poppy Parker and get them ready for the blog.

Procrastination and … a Poppy Parker
So, I may not be the queen of procrastination but I believe I would be voted onto the court of princesses of procrastination. I kind of like the sound of that…”Princess of Procrastination”. Anywhoo, I am supposed to be finishing up my presentation for this years NBDCC. I am supposed to be putting the finishing touches on it, wrapping it up and putting it to bed so I can start getting packed for the flight I am taking in a little over 36 hours from now. Am I doing any of that? Noooooooo. Instead, today I received a couple new Poppy Parker’s and I am playing instead. Guess this means I am finishing up the presentation on the airplane.
Love the lavender eyes!! Everything about this set that was promised…was delivered. She is adorable and the little poodle is to die for. Well done David!! I will have to come up with a suitable Paris themed set when I get back from convention.
Now…back to the presentation. If you are attending the NBDCC and are interested in learning more about the photography that I do here on the blog, I will be presenting on Thursday, July 28th at 5 pm in one of the Riverfront rooms at the Hyatt Jacksonville. The color palette of this collection definitely points to the fact that Poppy is traveling to Paris in the springtime. David Buttry confirmed this in a webcast about the collection. I adore this lavender on the strawberry blonde tresses of this Poppy. I also love the new updated facial screening on this one. It looks like we are getting some new and more sophisticated jewelry for Miss Poppy. NICE! I also love that the “Paris in Springtime” outfit will go nicely with the facial screening of this doll and vica versa.
This collection is an out of the park home run in my opinion. This is exactly what I enjoy collecting. I was happy with the base collection but the upcoming lottery offerings are what have me and many other Poppy Parker collectors salivating.

Her facial screening has been updated. The eyes are new for this edition. It’s very similar to the screening on their 16 inch Poppy’s…so much so that this collector thought it was a 16 inch Poppy when I first saw the photos. Her ingénue look is gone but then, Poppy is getting older so it tracks that she should get a more mature look. In my opinion, this screening works. I was not a fan of the harder, harsher screening of the IFDC Poppy’s or the convention Poppy’s from 2014. This screening…me likes! The Platinum hair..me also likes. However, I believe collectors are really hoping to see some variations other than blonde from Integrity this year. I also noticed that this Poppy is getting a “numbered certificate”. When did Poppy start getting certificates like the FR/FR2 ladies? Did I miss it last year or is this the first? 
There are a number of mix and match possibilities here and that purse/tote is too cute. Don’t even get me started on the adorable shoes…you had me at the wedge shoes David…you had me at the wedges. Merci Beaucoup!!!

Easter weekend is upon us and everything is coming to life in the garden again. The trees are all blooming pink and white, the daffodils are up and the lilacs are on the way. Life is good. With this symphony of pastels booming in the yard, I had to do something in the studio to celebrate it. I had the perfect model in mind too. Every time the Oscars roll around, I feel compelled to do some kind of red carpet or Oscar themed shoot. I have done Barbie getting dressed in her closet. I’ve done Barbie on her way to presenting the Oscar. I’ve done Barbie on the red carpet. I have yet to do any Integrity Toys, Inc products for the Oscar night festivities. The Power of Pink!!
Actually, I wanted to title this blog post “The power of pink, a new frock and a little bit of sunshine” , but it would have been too long. When you live in the Pacific Northwest and it’s the dead of winter ( which means rain people…lots and lots of rain), if one ray of sunshine peaks out, you are grabbing your camera and saying “What can I take a photo of!!” Or maybe…that’s just me. Yes I am seeing someone about my random photo tendencies when in the presence of intermittent sunshine LOL!
So, recently I took ownership of this adorable little dress from Hilda of Bellissima Couture. To me this dress just makes me happy. It’s pink yumminess with a hat. Also, it gave me a chance to use a new model in the studio..Ms. IT Airways Poppy Parker. She came with a pair of hands with white gloves ( Thank you David!!) so I knew I had to use them in a photo. I know by reading the WClub boards that a number of people were less than pleased with how the hair came out for their Poppy’s. Mine was not the best when she arrived but a very thoughtful and gifted group of souls on the WClub talked some of us through what they did to fix their Poppy’s hair. It worked like a dream on mine. Pre Convention Report Photo Shoot
I am the worst procrastinator…I really am. I have been sitting down to do post convention reports for the past week and somehow…I just get going on another project. I have no idea why I do this because the convention was AWESOME and all the reports will be fun. All I know is that today…when I had every intention of sitting down to do the convention write-up, I decided to do a photo shoot. Hopefully this posting will clear the logjam of post convention information gathering in my head and clear the way for future posts.
I recently took receipt of some amazing OOAK repaints by the amazing artist Jon Copeland (selojspa). I loved the Mood Changer Poppy Parker set we received through the WClub but wanted to see what Jon could do with the brunette and lavender haired heads. What I received blew my mind. 2015 Poppy Parker Collection Revealed
David Buttry walked collectors through the new offerings for 2015 in the Poppy Parker collection. This doll line is an increasingly popular line for Integrity Toys and David Buttry brings a wonderful vision to his designs and this collection. He stated in the webinar that his inspiration for this collection started with a documentary about Diana Vreeland, legendary fashion icon and editor of both Harpers Bazaar and US Vogue. The 1960’s will come alive again through Poppy Parker this year.
For those of you who are not WClub members and have not been in contact with dealers regarding these dolls, run don’t walk to your IT dealer and get on the list for anything you want. The grapevine reports that many of these Poppy’s are already sold out.

Poppy’s in Petal Dresses
As many of you know by now, I adore Hilda Westervelt of Bellissima Couture. Her work epitomizes what I love to collect. Her gentle spirit and friendship have been and will continue to be a treasure to this “sister friend”. This past December, Haute Doll Magazine approached a number of OOAK doll clothing makers to submit work for their Spring issue. As with all publication submissions, you never know which photos will be accepted for an issue. Here are some of the photos I shot for Hilda that did not make it into the issue. If you have not had a chance to check out Haute Doll’s spring issue, you should. There is a treasure house of OOAK doll clothing makers in it…including Ms. Hilda’s work.

Love this “especially for you” Poppy! When I was setting up the shoot, I got carried away with all the shabby chic pinkness and it was too sweet. I had to throw this red lipped siren Poppy in black to cut the cotton candy in this shot. If she was the vixen of the piece…she could not be sipping tea. She needed a DRINK. You will notice that her glass is empty

Beyond the Sea
The news in the United States right now is reporting the amazing and record breaking snowfall amounts on the east coast. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we are dealing with typical winter weather…rain and gloom. So, for those dealing with less than desirable weather situations, I decided to go to the beach for a day. I seem to be having a bit of a “Poppy crush” going on with this new convention Poppy.

The promo pictures didn’t do it for me and the purple disco dress CERTAINLY wasn’t doing anything to recommend this doll to me. The disco theme is just not what I like to collect. Something about this doll spoke to me, however, and I am glad I purchased her. Here is why…

Obviously I was having some quality time with Photoshop on a few of these shots. I have to say that the facial screening on this Poppy is a bit more sophisticated than the norm for Miss Poppy. We saw this same palette on the Poppy’s that were introduced at IFDC this year. To be perfectly honest, I am not sure I am ready to say goodbye to the dewy eyed fresh faced Poppy quite yet. This harder, more polished Poppy does make for some dramatic photos though.
Bogue’s Vogues Vendredi
Since I am getting back into the swing of things blog wise again, I thought it was well past time to do a Bogue’s Vogues Vendredi. In the past couple of years, I have been approached a few times to submit photos to publishers to help them pitch a book for production. I was approached last year to submit some photos for a book being considered to highlight James Bogue’s work. While the book idea may have not come to fruition this time around, James’ inspiring work is most definitely worthy of it. Here were some of my submissions.

A New Poppy Plus Silkstone Sneak Peeks
I received the new “That Holiday Feeling” Poppy Parker a couple of days ago. Usually I get a shipping notice but not this time. It was a nice surprise. Here is her promo shot again

The hairstyle is quite a bit different than the promo shots. The bangs needed some work to get them into a pleasing shape but a little bit of gel goes a long way to solve that dilemma. The rest of the hair while different is very pretty. Her face is sublime. Classic Poppy Parker. The dress came out of the box fairly wrinkled hence the tight in shot but that can be ironed to fix. The fabric of the gown is nice and the cape is adorable. I hope those lucky enough to win the chance to purchase get her in time to enjoy her over the holidays.

Oh the Chanelness of it all!!! This one is a no brainer for me. I hope the actual production doll has a shorter bob haircut like this. She is going to look fabulous next to my Preferably Pink Silkstone. I am noticing that there are no earrings with either one of these Silkstones. I guess this is one way to alleviate the “green ear” issue. This girl desperately needs a pair of pearl earrings to complete the look. I mean come on…what fashionista is going to leave the house without earrings….not this one.

That Holiday Feeling
I did manage to take a few photos here recently that I have been waiting to share. Hope everyone is maintaining an even strength this holiday season. Recently the Integrity Toys WClub held another lottery for a much coveted Poppy Parker Doll. Her name is “That Holiday Feeling”
While her edition size was a whopping 800, it still wasn’t enough to satisfy demand for this popular brand. There were many left wanting a chance to buy this pretty lady. I was lucky enough to be picked this time around but I am sad about it because I wish ,à la Oprah, there were “Poppy’s for everyone!” It got me to thinking about all the fabulous Poppy’s that are already out there and I decided to do a holiday photo shoot with one of my recent favorites. I know it doesn’t bring “That Holiday Feeling” home to everyone but maybe it will bring a little bit of Holiday Poppy into your home.

This year is Poppy Parker’s 5th anniversary and Integrity Toys is certainly showing up to celebrate it. I shared a photo earlier today of the first exclusive Poppy Parker for IFDC (International Fashion Doll Convention). Tonight, two additional Poppy Parker dolls were unveiled to much applause. These were the convention doll and a companion doll that was given to all attendees. If you are a Poppy Parker fan and chose this year to go to IFDC, you scored a jackpot in Vegas!

Poppy is in Vegas!!
And she is all grown up. Each year the IFDC (International Fashion Doll Convention) holds a fun convention in Las Vegas. I have never gone but I love seeing the photos of the people who do go and it sure seems like a great event. The timing never seems to work out for me to go to this one. Anywhoo, Integrity Toys does a number of dolls for this event and the first IT Direct exclusive for the convention was unveiled yesterday. It was a bit of a shocker for people as Poppy has never been offered up as an event doll before. Many Poppy Parker collectors are busy texting convention participants or scrolling through eBay listings to get a hold of this one.

They are really pulling out the stops for Poppy’s 5th anniversary. Apparently, she is on a hybrid body so not the regular Poppy Parker body. She does not have the ankle joint either. I am not sure how I feel about this very grown up version of Poppy. I am happy though for all the attendees of IFDC to have this really exclusive issue. Very exciting. I love how IT is mixing things up. You never really know what you will get at conventions these days. It keeps us guessing and I like it.

I.T. and David Buttry gave us another fabulous Tulabelle collection to pour over. Just to remind people who this lady is…she is Poppy Parker’s granddaughter so some of the pieces she has in her wardrobe are vintage pieces from her grandmother’s fashion career. Note: Gold lame coat on “Front Row” is same coat Poppy wears in “Spy-A-Go-Go”. Cool continuity David!
