Dark Moon Rising
I posted earlier this week about how some collectors will go back and forth over whether or not to purchase a particular doll. Here is another one that I was on the fence about. She is from the 2014 Integrity toys Gloss Convention collection.

The promo pictures didn’t do it for me and the purple disco dress CERTAINLY wasn’t doing anything to recommend this doll to me. The disco theme is just not what I like to collect. Something about this doll spoke to me, however, and I am glad I purchased her. Here is why…

Obviously I was having some quality time with Photoshop on a few of these shots. I have to say that the facial screening on this Poppy is a bit more sophisticated than the norm for Miss Poppy. We saw this same palette on the Poppy’s that were introduced at IFDC this year. To be perfectly honest, I am not sure I am ready to say goodbye to the dewy eyed fresh faced Poppy quite yet. This harder, more polished Poppy does make for some dramatic photos though.
Gorgeous shots, she is a stunner, I agree with the more fresh look of Poppy, but this girl rocks the purple well. That gown is amazing, love the bodice!!! hugs

Thank you my dear! 🙂 This doll is quickly becoming a crush for me. Your amazing purple and black dress with cape and hat worked beautifully on her. Loved photographing that outfit.

Having lived through the 60’s , myself and my friends wore this much makeup on occasion. So she looks spot for me. And, taking her our of all that purple makes a world of difference, in a good way. Stunning photos, you bring out the best in her.

Awwww! Thank you Bev. Coming from a style guru…compliments indeed. Taking this doll out of her original outfit was a complete inspiration for me. Changes her entire look and feel. Just goes to show you…can’t judge a book by it’s cover ..or in this case, by it’s outfit. 😉

She is such a beauty, and you have captured that perfectly. Brenda’s outfit is heavenly, especially that hat! Love the chalk drawn backdrop. xoxo H

Thank you my dear! Next stop…a Bellissima Couture outfit. That background is something else isn’t it?! Must use that one some more…and the beauty is….I can do different colors too. Ahhh…the possibilities are endless.

Wow! She looks amazing! I passed on her at convention as she just didn’t call to me, but I wish I’d gotten her now.

I totally hear you Lisa. 🙂 If you are not a fan of 60’s fashion, this doll in her original outfit was a complete pass for me. So happy to have gambled and won on this one. I am happy to show the hidden potential in this doll and glad you enjoyed the photos.

Hi Rebecca! I loved your restyling on this Poppy. Her face is really stunning! I didn’t think I would like her either. I also liked what you did with the gloves. I’m hoping Integrity could make all their gloves the way you did it and move past with the mitten gloves.:)

Nice eye for detail popsyturvee! Yes, the gloves were something new I am trying out. The kitchen mitt look just doesn’t go with the Vogue couture look now does it. 😉

Hi. Thank you for sending this post. I just looked at it on your site. HA! I don’t care for the outfit either, or her side curls, but I love her face. I will obviously be dressing her in something else. Thanks, Wanda.

You are welcome Wanda. Enjoy your Poppy 🙂

Thank you Raelene. One of the best parts of this rich and varied collector community is the amazing OOAK artists that supply our diminutive divas with a Vogue worthy wardrobe.

Thank you so much Lori! I am having a ball with my Dark Moon Poppy crush right now. I bet you couldn’t tell that. 😉

I love this dress its so beautiful. Sometimes Integrity Toys has way better dresses than Mattel. I want them all.

I agree Heather. Although…Mattel has rocked out some major ball gowns in it’s time and I admit…the IT girls have completely stolen them right out from under the Silkstones.
