2016 Inspirations-The Year Ahead
So…I am sitting here this morning with my morning cup of java ( hating the fact that its non fat creamer because I am doing that “lets do a diet” to start the year off right thing) and getting inspiration for the year of blogging ahead. I finally have some free time ahead of me and really want to devote more time to this blog that I love and the collection that is such a hobby of joy for me to photograph and talk about. As I was sinking my teeth into the first few screens of Pinterest and Instagram images for the morning, I stumbled upon a number of images that just took flight in my head and had me thinking about dioramas and lots of yummy content for the blog. I just have to share.
I don’t know about you guys but I love illustrations. I particularly enjoy fashion illustrations which is why I have a number of limited prints by Robert Best. If you follow the Barbie Instagram account, you might have already enjoyed this woman’s work. I have to admit, I’m a newbie to her lovely illustrations but I am already a huge fan. Her name is Kerrie Hess
And the next couple I am including for my sister Hilda
Aren’t these scrumptious!!! Now…to figure out how to percolate some of these illustrations and ideas into background and diorama ideas for our 1/6 ladies. Oh yes, Rebecca is inspired now.

The 2014 Academy Awards!
Technically these should be the 2013 Oscars right?…I mean…these awards are for movies released in 2013. This always confuses me. I have to say that some of my favorite moments of last night’s show were not the fashions. Some of my favorite moments were a few of the heart felt and well delivered acceptance speeches that we were treated to ( without annoying music cutting them off I might add…my thanks to the academy). Not only did these actors express their gratitude but many of them touched on personal and social issues that made what could have been a trite and generalized speech into a tribute to others and a call to action on a few social issues. It was really lovely to hear and see.
Now…on to other things that were lovely to see…and perhaps a few that were not.
The Best dressed actress on the red carpet goes to….Charlize Theron in Dior
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
This was “hands down” my absolute favorite. Glamours, chic, elegant…I could go on and on. She owned the red carpet in this amazing and what appears to be custom Christian Dior gown.
Honorable mentions for the evening:
Here was another beauty in black. Karen O’ in Camilla Staerk
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Reem Acra
source: www.MSN.com
Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace. Loved, loved, loved this look on her.
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
Amy Adams in Gucci Couture
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen. Adored this look on her. She looked regal.
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior…and notably…one of the very few to wear red on the red carpet.
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
And….my favorite not seen on the red carpet but at the Oscars dress…Sally Fields in Randi Rahm. Talk about grace personified. Beautiful!!
There were many gowns that I adored last night. There were also a few looks that left me wanting…and sadly they were on some ladies whom have stunned in the past on the red carpet.
Anna Kendrick in J Mendel. The mesh cumber bund with beaded red stars…that was the kiss of death on this number. You know there is a problem when people are saying the back of the gown is way more interesting than the front.
source: www.MSN.com
Viola Davis in Escada. The fit was off on this one. Not her best look.
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
It pains me to say this but…Anne Hatheway in Gucci. I can only imagine the screams that curdled the air in the control booth when she stepped out on the stage to give an award. The mirrors on the front of her dress caught every single light and reflected it back…into the audience…into the cameras…into homes all over the planet. I am still seeing stars.
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
Kate Blanchett in Armani Privé. I liked the design alright but the color just washed her out. I adored her acceptance speech for the best actress win though. Strong female leads in film sells tickets Hollywood…hear it, learn it….live it.
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
Naomi Watts in Calvin Klein. This one really surprised me. Naomi Watts is one of my “go to” people on the red carpet. She almost NEVER appears on the red carpet in anything other than stunning. Last nights efforts, while not horrible, just left me kind of “meh”. It was too much of a one note for me.
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
Jessica Biel in Chanel Couture. I do not feel this dress did ANYTHING for her. When pressed, the only compliment I can give this gown is to say “ well…it was beaded” In the words of the indomitable Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada “That is all”.
And….I know I will get all kinds of disagreement on this one…Lupita Nyong’o in Prada. I adored this color on her and the whole flowing Grecian look. I just could not get past my first impression of her and my exclamation of “It’s Cinderella!” The headband had to go if I was ever going to get Cinderella out of my head. Bippity, boppity boo.
source: www.huffingtonpost.com
All in all not a bad turnout for fashion on the red carpet last night and also of historic significance…the selfie that shut down twitter last night from Ellen DeGeneres.

2014 Golden Globes: Red Returns to the Red Carpet
It’s January folks and that means…awards season beginning! This year things will be a little more protracted because the winter Olympics will be sandwiched in between awards ceremonies. I am not a huge fan of the award shows myself but I am a huge fan of the fashion shows they create on the red carpets for these things. This year will be no exception.
As my title would indicate, red was a favorite this year on the Red Carpet. Many stylists will tell you this is a tricky color to dress their clients in because there are so many different shades and each one can potentially clash with the red carpet itself. Wearing red on a red carpet….risky. Apparently there were many willing to take the risk. For the most part, they gambled and won.
Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren. STUNNING! This was my favorite look of the night. She wore this beautifully and paired it with simple elegant jewelry. Beyond gorgeous in my opinion.
Amy Adams in Valentino Haute Couture. While I love her hair and love the fact that she channeled her 1970’s American Hustle character for this look, it was not my favorite. I love to see Amy Adams as sweet and pure on the red carpet. Here she just looked hard and cold.
Taylor Swift in Carolina Herrera. Gold star to Taylor’s stylist…AGAIN. This gown screams red carpet in my opinion and she chose a wonderful updo with simple jewelry for a soft classic look.
Emma Watson in Dior Couture. When I saw this fashion from the front I was not impressed…I felt it was just a little dowdy for Miss fashion forward Watson. Then she turned around. Whooo! Love the back and she had a pair of black crop pants with navy blue strappy pumps. Chic and edgy. LOVE!
Red may have been a favorite but black was also in elegant attendance.
Kate Blanchett in Armani Privé and Chopard jewels. This was my second favorite look of the evening. So classic and elegent. A winner for fashion and a winner of the award for best drama actress.
Jessica Chastain in Givenchy Haute Couture with Bulgari jewelry. Stunning design and she pairs it with simple hair and classic makeup. Another wining look on the red carpet for her.
Sofia Vergara in Zac Posen with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. This is not my favorite look on Ms. Vergara. It just feels too big for her. I do,however, adore the necklace she pared with this real estate swallowing gown. It was a beautiful pop of color amongst the sea of black.
Emma Roberts in Lanvin. Loved this gorgeous and elegant look on her. It also looks like her stylist took a shorter look from the Lanvin 2014 spring RTW line and made a longer dress out of it. Winner!
For the most part, the fashions satisfied and exceeded expectations last night. There were a few less than stellar moments though. I wish I could take credit for the title of this next segment but alas …I cannot. My husband actually uttered this for one of these fashions and it was so appropriate I had to use it. Jon, my love, you get the credit.
“She is not wearing that fashion….that fashion is wearing her”
…and not in a good way.
Lena Dunham in Zac Posen. First of all, lemon yellow on a red carpet spells potential retinal seerage. Yes, you are definitely noticeable and I am not sure she wanted to be in this. Also, I ask the question again, “Can you really pull off elegant couture with major tatoos?” In her case, in this dress, I don’t think so. This is NOT her color. Enough said.
Paula Patton in Stephane Rolland. Ummm…do you guys remember the Queen’s bed skirt that was on Helena Bonham Carter’s dress last award season? Guess where it ended up. One word: blindside. Hope she never had to see anything to her left. Maybe she just didn’t like the person sitting to her left at the table LOL! A couture solution to “talk to the hand”…in her case it was “talk to the ruffle.”
Bérénice Bejo in Giambattista Valli. I am sure this looked stunning on the 6 foot model who wore it on the 2013 fall couture runway. Here it just had me imagining this conversation “Honey, who cut up the red bath matt from the guest bath?” WAY too many poufy things on this one.
The 2013 Emmy Awards Fashion Picks and Pans
I just had a chance to look through the 2013 Emmy red carpet looks and felt like doing a post…so here goes.
In and amongst the plethora of strapless column dresses on the red carpet last night there were a number that stood out for me. There were good “stand outs” and a few “Oh My Word!” stand outs.
What had me hitting the thumbs up button:
More than like…LOVE Sophia Vergara in her red Vera Wang and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Wow! Okay Santa, I want to look like that in a red dress for Christmas. Hey…a girl can dream.
Julie Bowen in Zac Posen….that even rhymes LOL! This whole outfit had me clapping with joy. So feminine and soft with the structured lines that only Zac Posen can accomplish. Beautiful. I loved the simple jewelry with this. The gown is so complicated, it did not need anything else. The purse is forgettable so the date should have just carried that LOL!
Zooey Deschanel in…Chanel of course. I love this shade of blue on her and apparently so does her stylist. I believe we have seen her on the red carpet in this very shade of blue a couple of times now. For this outfit, I adore the purse. The whole styling package from head to foot says elegance, grace and couture. Now, if we could get the young woman with the deer caught in headlights look photoshopped out of this picture, we would have a winner.
Jewel in…well I have not sleuthed that out yet but whoever it is, I love it. It works perfectly on her too. With so many of these ensembles, it is the little details that really bring it together. For me, the exclamation point on this beautiful outfit is the flower ring she has on the index finger. Sooooo cute.
What had me hitting the thumbs down:
Heide Klum in Versace. There is no doubt that Heidi Klum is a beautiful woman and accomplished woman. She can now add Heidi the Glamazon action figure to her list of accomplishments. This outfit just didn’t do it for me on her. It just came off as way too…”industrial” and rigid. Also, I want to know if this gown came with a choking hazard warning.
BEWARE OF RETINAL SEERAGE!! Anna Ferris in Monique L’huillier. I love the style of this gown and I love it on her….I just can’t get past the color….I am tearing up just typing this with the photo on the screen. Somebody put a coat on it before it does permanent damage!!
But wait..there is more…yes this dress does in fact glow in the dark.
Ummmm….Julianne….I see London I see France girl. Julianne Hough in Jenny Packham. What happened? Usually Julianne is impeccable on the red carpet but apparently this year, the stylist let her leave without most of the skirt. Just a thought here but…wouldn’t you feel cold? The mother in me wants to run over and throw a coat over her before her mother sees it.
Vera Farmiga in Theysken’s Theory. I think Vera Farmiga is an incredibly beautiful woman but this “Theory” did not pan out for her. It makes her look about 30 pounds heavier than what she really is. Now…I ask you…is that ever a good thing?
Um…don’t think our attention could be more focused on this woman’s bust unless you painted a bulls eye on it. Zosia Mamet in Honor. Her expression seems to say “I’m not amused”…Yeah I wouldn’t be amused either if I was wearing a leather bralet on an evening gown.
It’s Oscar Time!
I am sitting here with my morning cup of coffee and reflecting on the Oscar show last night. It was definitely a night for fashion…but can I just say one thing…”Thank God for Hugh Jackman!”. Ms. Lawrence was navigating her Dior couture gown up the steps to receive her best actress award and tripped. This was a HUGE dress people and the poor girl did her best. I would have been tripping all over the place but that is not my point. My point is…there were many people who were closer to her to help but they didn’t. Instead, Hugh Jackman comes sprinting from the front row to help her up. Awwwww! As they say back where I grew up, “ Now somebody raised that boy right”.
On to the fashion….There were definitely some hits of the evening.
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture
If there were no stairs involved, she definitely floated down the carpet in this dress. I believe it was the palest pink in hue and I loved seeing her in something soft after we had seen her in stronger reds and blacks at previous awards shows. She was a princess last night not an amazon. And she can definitely pull off both looks.
Anne Hathaway in Prada
By all accounts, this was a last minute decision on her and her stylist’s part. Apparently she was all set to wear a Valentino and changed at the final moment. Again we see pale, pale pink. You know I am going to like it for the color alone. The fit could have been better on her but I loved this soft color and simple cut and design on her. The other reason I like this gown is because of …..
THE BACK! Just too cute for words. Conservative from the front and sexy from the back. Love it.
And…In the Pink!
Charlize Theron in Dior Couture
Loved this color and cut on her and was really digging the short hair cut. She had all her hair shaved off for a movie a couple months ago. She has the face and bone structure to be able to do this haircut well….many do not. I appreciated the simple and elegant jewelry here too.
Jessica Chastaine in Armani Privee
If Jessica and her stylist were going for old Hollywood glamour, they NAILED it. I would have preferred to see a slightly different color on her ( a little too one note with her hair for me) but other than that….WOW! Simple, elegant, understated, beautiful.
Zoe Saldana in Alex Mabille
The dress is a pure confection. Her expression in this photo… is not LOL! I am sure she must have been happier than this picture implies to be wearing this beautiful creation. Perhaps she had just spotted her ex ( cough Bradley Cooper cough) on the red carpet. Anywhoo…it appears to be a very pale lilac. LOVE the hem on this and the detail around the waist. I never would have thought I would have liked a belt on an evening gown but it works here.
There were many more high fashion notes from last nights red carpet but time only permits me to list a few. Now to the low notes, in my opinion, of the evening.
Helena Bonham Carter in Vivienne Westwood
I have said it before and I will say it again….”Helena, comb…comb, Helena” This introduction NEEDS to be made. Also, no disrespect to the very fine talent of Vivienne Westwood but…the Queen called and she wants her dust ruffle back. Sorry people, I know Ms. Carter is quirky and incredibly talented. I am just not feeling the love for this look.
Selma Hyack in Alexander McQueen
Is anyone else feeling the need to pull at their collar….like you are wearing a too tight turtleneck?? I think this gown fits her beautifully and she has the most amazing figure. I am just not feeling this dress on her. Perhaps it’s the model muse Barbie pose she is in. It just comes off as too stiff. Her shoulders do look AMAZING in this dress though.
And lastly….a picture so disturbing I had to avert my eyes the first time I say it….get ready folks…
Brandi Glanville in…well…I really don’t know but who but it needed about a yard more of fabric!!!
OH MY WORD! Someone fetch the smelling salts! This woman is one big breath away from a major wardrobe malfunction. Do you get the feeling that cameras were following her around all night long just to catch it. Seriously?! Did someone actually allow her out of the house looking like this? I don’t recall “half dressed” listed as an option for the Oscars. Apparently I was wrong. Brandi…we know you like attention but…we didn’t want you to take “over the top” literally. Sweetie…just get the bigger dress size next time…really.
ITFDS Musings from the Golden Globe Red Carpet
The Golden Globes were last night and It was fun watching the red carpet with my daughter. She and I have differing opinions on what is good fashion. I love classic styling and ball gown princess couture. My daughter goes for the darker colors and edgier designers. I have to say that my first positive impression from the red carpet had nothing to do with the fashion. Did you guys get a look at the coolest heat lamps ever??!! They looked like big white floor lamps. The wedding planners of the world, I suspect, are clogging up the phone lines this morning trying to line these babies up for the next year of events.
Fashion wise, there was much to admire on the red carpet for both my daughter and I. There were also a few laugh out loud scratch my head and yell “ Oh my word….NO!” moments. With so much going on, I decided to group my reactions into different categories like the awards ceremony itself.
Category 1: Best actress in a fashion ensemble. The queen of the ball. Ms. Anne Hathaway in Chanel. Nice to see Chanel redeeming itself after Elle Fanning’s shower mishap at the Critics Choice awards. This lady gets more stunning with every award show this year. It’s hard to believe she could outdo this number for the Oscars….we shall see. The big rumor at last nights festivities was that Ms. Hathaway is expecting too. The actress and her team have completely denied it.
** All photos are property of MSN’s Wonderwall**
Category 2: Best supporting actress in a fashion ensemble. The princesses of the court…. Woman who looked so good it was sickening…in a good I just ate too many chocolates way .
Okay…so Julianne Hough rocked the red carpet….AGAIN!! Somebody get me her stylist’s number. Taylor Swift consistently pulls off stunning red carpet looks. The back of her Donna Karan number was just as fabulous as the front. Well done stylist. Amy Adam frothed her way down the carpet in this dreamy ballet pink Marchessa creation and Zooey Deshanel is beyond cute in anything she wears. Oh and I have to throw in an honorable mention in here..
Rosario Dawson in Antonio Berardi did not fit with the princess of the court theme but I loved her in this
Category 3: Best actress who just had babies… and had no business looking this good on the red carpet!
This is soooooo not right. {{Rebecca sits in a corner and sulks. She decides to make plans to hit the gym ASAP }}. Seriously though folks…they JUST had babies.
Category 3.5 Cutest pregnant woman on the carpet…..Kristin Bell in Jenny Peckham
Awwwwww! Dax Shepard and Kristin Bell….that’s so sweet..I think I just got a cavity.
Category 4: Best actress portraying a siren on the red carpet.
Katharine McPhee in Theyskins’ Theory ( yep..had to look that one up too). Hey…if I had a body like this I would be wearing half a dress and showing it off too.
Selma Hyak in Gucci. Look in the dictionary under “va va voom” and you will find a picture of this woman.
Halle Berry in Versace. Holy cow!! Does this woman ever age??!! In the genetic pool there are winners and then there are LOTTO winners. I believe this woman was the single winner of the largest gene pool Powerball. I adore her in this Versace…and every red blooded heterosexual male in the room just stood up and said “AMEN”
Naomi Watts in Zac Posen. Okay…I am going to come right out and say it…Naomi Watts is a GODDESS in this gown. From top to toe…PERFECTION!
Category 6: Most confusing performance by a stylist.
One of these things is not like the other..one of these things just doesn’t belong ( Do we all remember this from Sesame Street??…sing it with me now…)
Helena Bonham Carter in Dolce and Gabbana. Would someone please, please, please tell Helena to brush her hair. Oh and what can I say about the lips purse???? Well try this “Shun, to push away…to say “no thank you”. That purse is indeed the final kiss of death for this entire look. Love this woman’s work as an actress. She is brilliant. This outfit…is not. To Helena and her stylist…please pack your knives and go.
Sienna Millier in custom Erdem. Custom meaning it is OOAK…meaning it won’t be repeated…THANK GOD!! What is this love affair going on with applique flowers?? I don’t think Martha would label this a “Good Thing”.
Alyssa Milano in….an orange mumu. I don’t even know where to start. The color is not flattering on her and the cut is REALLY not flattering on her ( note to self ladies…an empire waist does not solve everything). The accessories are too heavy in my opinion. In the words of an epic line from the movie Aliens….”Game over man…game over.”
Lena Dunham in Zac Posen. I don’t know much about Ms. Dunham or the show “Girls” that won last night . She seems like a very talented young woman. I think she is adorable. I think the dress is to die for. The two just don’t seem to go together. Maybe it was the impressive set of tats this actress displayed in this couture gown that turned me off. Don’t get me wrong. I have no problem with tattoos. I have a question though. Can anyone seriously pull off a couture ball gown with a full upper back tattoo? Okay…Angelina Jolie can but I don’t believe Lena Dunham has done it. The color is not flattering on her either. Unlike poor unfortunate Alyssa above, the cut of this gown does work on Ms. Dunham and love her short pixie hair. I felt sorry for the girl though. This gown should have come with an assistant to help get her up on the stage. It looked like a battle to wrestle this big dress up to the podium…and she had to do it….twice.
Fashion and the Awards Shows
It’s that time of year again. Time for every stylist and stylist wanna be to get ready for the red carpets of awards season. When I am setting up a photo shoot, I like to think of myself as a 1/6 stylist. In that vein, I must admit that I am obsessively interested in the fashions and styling displayed on the red carpets of award season. The night after a major award show, I can be found going over the photos and giving my opinion of this fashion or that. I shared my picks and pans of last years Golden Globes and readers enjoyed it so I decided to try again this year. I am getting started early with some picks and pans from The Critic’s Choice Awards and The People’s Choice Awards.
There is much to like in fashion and styling so far this award season……
1) Ms Anne Hathaway or rather…her stylist Rachel Zoe. She was a feast for the eyes at the Critics Choice Awards in this gorgeous and as yet unseen Oscar de la Renta beaded gown. That’s right folks…I believe this is a never before seen Oscar de la Renta design…not seen for 2013 Pre-Fall or 2013 Spring RTW or even 2013 Resort. Rachel Zoe certainly has some pull for her celebrity clients . Let’s hope, for her sake and the eyes of all the retinal seared photographers, she was wearing her undergarments this time.
2) Emily Rossum at the Critics Choice Awards. So fresh and flowing. Perfect choice for her and the red carpet.
3) Jennifer Lawrence at the Critics Choice Awards. I love how fierce this design is and how strong this actress presents herself. You go girl!! Love the simple accessories and fresh makeup.
4) Eva Longoria at Critics Choice Awards. I love the color and femininity of this design.
And 5) Julianne Hough at People’s Choice Awards. Does this woman EVER look bad in anything??!! I don’t believe I have ever seen her looking..well..say a little tired or haggard or like she grocery shops at Safeway. Love this sparkly and fun number from Tony Ward. It fits beautifully with the fun sassy hair and fresh faced makeup. It is just plain fun and perfect for the People’s Choice Award. This dress and styling gets my vote!
Now for some of the “Huh?!!!” moments….
1) This has to be one of my all time biggest “Huh??!!!” moments while viewing the red carpet photos. Elle Fanning is an absolutely adorable and gorgeous young woman. I don’t know who styles her but they need to seriously consider a career change. Oh my word!! Did the stylist get up that morning and say “ I am going to put Elle Fanning in a shower curtain.” ?? I know, I know..but it’s a Chanel shower curtain. I don’t give a rip. It didn’t look good on the runway, IMHO, and it doesn’t look any better on poor “caught in the shower” Elle. Oh…and don’t’ even get me started on those shoes!! I think my Grandma had a pair…in 1970.
2) I love Amanda Seyfried. God bless her..she went with whatever the stylist had laid out for her. The first red flag here is that the runway model had football “eye black” on when strutting down the runway in this number….never a good omen. Secondly, this gowns best side ( if it indeed has one) appears to be shown in movement. Excellent when moving down a runway…not so excellent when you are forced to stand and pose in front of hundreds of shutterbugs on a red carpet. When it comes to accessorizing, there is minimal and then there is non-existent. Did the stylist run out of time??!! The color of the gown is good…I will give it that and only that.
3) Sally Field….what happened??!! Did you have to come to the Critic’s Choice Awards straight from the office? I know this is more of a casual affair but not THAT casual. The hair and makeup are fantastic!! The dress… a little too Ann Taylor office dressy for me.
The Golden Globes are tonight….will have more picks and pans for you tomorrow
‘Out Sass’ Inspiration?
Ever since this doll’s photos were released, a little birdie has been sitting on my shoulder saying “You have seen that jacket before.” I decided to go and check my file of favorite fashions I keep from the previous seasons fashion shows and “Eureka!”
I loved this suit when I saw it..hence the saved link to the picture…and I am happy to see it as an inspiration for a 1/6 design by the talented folks at Integrity.

Style Watch…Golden Globes 2012
I love to watch the award shows for the fashions. I often find myself saying “ What gown would I love to have recreated for my doll collection?”. It definitely sparks some thinking and dreaming in me. I know I personally could never pull off any of these gowns because I am all of 5 foot 1 ( always wished I was taller) and don’t have the body of a super model. I do , however, appreciate that others can wear these fabulous designer creations well. Here are a few of my favorites from this years Golden Globes.
1. Kate Beckensale in Roberto Cavali. She would most likely look good in a burlap sack but here she looks like a princess. Love the upswept hair, the cuff bracelets, the chandelier earrings and how this gown drapes at the bottom. LOVE
2. Jessica Alba in lavender Gucci. Didn’t she just have a baby? It’s just not normal to look this good after just having a baby right? She looks so elegant in this gown. Love the understated jewelry and cute little clutch to match. Love, love, love that soft draping train of the skirt.
3. Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji. I was definitely into the softer looks of pastels last evening. One of the best things about Octavia’s look was the gorgeous hair she had. Soooo lovely.
4. Sophia Vergara in Vera Wang. Va Va Va Voom! Love the color, love the cut, love the fact that she kept her hair down and swept to the side. Love the simple cuffs she wore with it. Gorgeous!
5. Viola Davis in Emilio Pucci. The hair!! Oh my word the hair! LOVE. She looks so elegant but current and hip at the same time. Loved this whole look from head to toe.
To the stylists that put these looks together, I salute you!
There were a few looks that had me scratching my head last night as well…..
1. Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackerman. Tilda honey….we love you and you are incredibly talented. What is with the hairstyle here?? Are we doing a tribute to David Bowie? It’s one heck of a tribute…just doesn’t work with the gown. Love the color and cut of the gown…with the haircut?….not so much.
2. Meryl Streep in vintage Jeager ( yeah…had to look that one up too…didn’t know it). Again, enormously talented lady but I feel like she will be donning a pair of jeans and hitting the rodeo later.
3. Missi Pyle, in Junko Yoshioka. Okay…where to start here… Could it be the color? Yellow is a hard color to pull off by anyone but dirty yellow on a blond??? Near impossible to look good in that color. Now, the dress itself..I think I saw that..wait..I think I wore that to a 1980’s prom. Is there really a chiffon rosette at her waist? Beautiful, Beautiful girl with lovely hair…needed a different dress.
