2016 Integrity Toys Convention

Supermodel, Larger than Life on the Catwalk

When this posts, I will be on my way to Chicago to join over 600 other collectors for the IT 2016 Convention. This years theme is sure to be a hit and I can’t wait to see what fabulous things Integrity Toys has planned for us. While I am attending and sharing images ( yes, you can watch on Flickr, FB and Instagram stories). My good friend, Rogier Corbeau of Dutch Fashion Doll World will be taking over the blog. Oh so Chanel

For those of you who follow me on FB and Instagram, you received a little sneak peek of today’s post this past weekend.

Tomorrow, I am flying to Chicago for the 2016 Integrity Toys Convention. Hilda Westervelt of Bellissima Couture and I will be having an event on Wednesday evening to sell fabulous OOAK clothing creations by Hilda and a variety of 1/6 items made by me and my fellow blogger Rogier Corbeau of Dutch Fashion Doll World. For place and time, check the boards at convention. We will be placing signage as soon as we have a room number. We will also be at the sales bazaar on Friday evening.

Here is a small sample of some of the Chanel inspired yumminess that Hilda will have available for convention attendees.

Hudson’s Bay Barbie!

Sorry to start this blog post out with some snark but here it goes. When you are a company the size of Mattel…and you say you are going to have something for sale on a certain date at a certain time….you would think they would honor that. Nope. But then again, this was the same company that advertised a doll for $50 then raised the price 50 percent an hour into the sale to $75. Snark over…for now. Winking smile

All this being said, Mattel released a highly anticipated doll today ( about an hour and a half later than they said they would but released it they did)…whaaaaat…how did that extra snark get in there?

Seriously though..Carlyle has a new girl to show off at Mattel and she is a beauty! Well done Carlyle!!! Also important to note…for once Canadian collectors can buy directly and get this one shipped to their homes. She is also available at Hudson’s Bay online.

It’s Party Time

Everyone in the fashion world has their eyes turned toward Paris right now for the culmination of the 2017 Spring Summer Ready to Wear shows and I thought, “what does one do at the end of fashion week?”. If it were me, I would want to celebrate so that is the inspiration behind this group of photos. Well…that and a killer sparkle dress from Rimdoll.

There was another item besides the gown that I was inspired by. Those of us who attended last years Integrity Toys convention were a bit hmmmm…lets just say underwhelmed by the convention doll last year. Her name was ‘Making an Entrance’ Karolin Stone and she was a severe looking lady with a major broad forehead. Not the most attractive look in my opinion.

I really liked her facial screening but I was all ready to sell this one when I saw an image of a restyled Karolin on Rimdoll’s Etsy site. I decided to change course and see if I could soften her look a bit. Here is what I ended up with and I have to say…I am very happy Winking smile .

She still has the wide forehead but at least it’s softened up by the roll of bangs.

And before you say it…YES I know there is no such thing as a pink pumpkin. They are there to remind all of us that it is breast cancer awareness month people…so do those self exams and get those mammograms!!!
