All good things must come to an end. Or…in my case…all sunny days in the garden eventually give way to rain. I managed to get three separate photo shoots completed before the rain started so I am happy with that. For the last installment of this romantic garden series I paired a favorite embroidered sheath from Bellissima Couture and a yummier than yummy coat from Lovetones. The hat is a story. It originally came from Bogue’s Vogues and I have to admit…I got creative with the Russian netting on this one. Hope you all enjoy.
Model: Lovtones Romantic Era Roxy
Dress: Bellissima Couture
Coat : Lovetones Timeless Show Roxy
Hat: Bogues vogues
Shoes: Lovetones Romantic Era Roxy
Purse: Integrity Toys AKA Gigi Giselle
Accessories: the box, macaron and bag were all done by me. The boxwood trees in planters were from Pier One. The bench was found on Ebay.

If you were a W Club member this past weekend and attempted to get a coveted ticket into the Integrity Toys 2017 convention…you were definitely hoping for happy endings. The event sold out even faster than last year…in just an hour to be precise. Since spots were limited to 500, many were a little nervous about whether or not they would get in. I know I was. I am happy to report that this collector had a happy ending to her quest for a golden ticket. Adding to the excitement of this event is the fact that it will be held in fairytale land itself…right next to Disneyland in Orlando, FL. Double win in my book! This event will take place October 18-21, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando. Registration fee is $550. If you are interested in attending, you can add your name to the waiting list here.
For this years convention, Integrity Toys continued a little perk they added last year for W Club members. It’s a little taste of what will be coming to attendees in the convention collection. Even if you are not attending the convention, you can participate in this opportunity. This is a W Club exclusive.

As a special treat…we get to see the doll through Jason Kramer’s amazing illustrations! eeeeee!!!!

The inspiration for this doll, as many have already reported, is clearly a 2011 Vogue Russia editorial.

Are we excited to see what else they have in store for us at this convention? Oh yes…I think we are.

As we turn the corner into spring, I am in the mood for soft hazy imagery, pastels and florals. A sunny day in the garden ( an absolute surprise in the Pacific Northwest in spring) led me to bring out a new line of 1/6 fashion dolls I have been intrigued by since their debut.

Her name is “Romantic Era Roxy” and she was the prefect model for the next set of images I will be sharing on the blog this week. Are we ready for some soft images to take us through the gloom of early Spring? I know I am!

More images from the garden coming up this week

It looks like these images are up on the Barbie Collection website so I will share them here too. The first Silkstone of 2017 will be available tomorrow!! While I am not a fan of this articulated body, I still love the look of this first offering.
I find it very interesting that these images are available but no news on the Barbie Fan Club for 2017 is up and available yet. Word is 03/31/2017. Let’s just say, I will believe it when I see it. In the mean time, there are images and a price point for this silkstone to mull over.
Black & White Tweed Suit Barbie® Doll
Gold Label
Designer:Robert Best
Release Date: 03/27/2017 ( release doesn’t always mean available people…just sayin’)
Price: $75.00

Love the redhead! Love the suit and Hermes inspired Kelly bag. The hat…hmmmm…will have to see. Happy that this lady has earrings! I have to be honest…I am shocked we don’t have any new information on the BFC yet…just some vague information that it would be coming out by 03/31/2017. I will be adding this beauty to my collection, club or no club.

The actual name for this doll is Totally Betty Ayumi. If you have never watched the movie Clueless you may have missed the meaning of the reference. Per the Online Slang Dictionary, the definition of Betty is
noun
Oddly enough, the citation for this definition is the movie Clueless. Well..whether or not the movie coined this term and it’s meaning, this Ayumi is definitely a stunner. The outfit she came in was perfect for the urban and hip look. My collection runs more towards the elegant and sophisticated so I wanted to transform this current Ayumi with an outfit I had recently received. I suspected she would fit into “elegant and sophisticated” without a problem….and I was right. This also gave me a chance to use one of the amazing screens I recently picked up on Etsy.
Model and jewelry: Totally Betty Ayumi
Shoes: FR2 shoe pack
Suit and faux fur: HOANG ANH KHOI on Etsy
Screen: Customdollhouse on Etsy
Tulips: Available soon at ITFDS

I absolutely adore the soft facial screening on her!! A number of collectors have said she bears a striking resemblance to Chrissy Teigan. I can totally see that!

And sparkle she does! I realized I had not given any love to this particular convention Poppy for well over a year. Not good. She was part of the 2015 IT convention collection. Here she is in her original outfit and jewelry. She is however, sporting a new set of hands that were a recent find on Ebay.

Check out the teeny, tiny acrylic nails!! I found them on Ebay. Don’t know if this vendor offers them up regularly or if they were just a short term thing but this is where I got them.

Love the facial screening on this one. While nails like this are not something I normally go for…I think they do add a very glamorous look to this Poppy.

Nothing like a redhead in green! For the next couple of months I will be going through some of my old portfolio for a future project and I will most likely be sharing some of those re-edits. These will be some of my favorite shots from years past. This will work in tandem with my Instagram as I try to populate that account with some work from my previous catalogue of images. I thought as it is St. Patrick’s day, it was a good day to kick off an ‘on theme’ post with a favorite set from the past.

I received the lovely dolls I ordered from the “Reckless” collection from my fabulous Integrity Toy’s dealer this past week and I have to say…I am not disappointed at all. The facial screenings are delightful and the fashions and accessories exceed expectations on most levels. My only complaint is that the choker necklaces on both Ayumi and Erin needed to have adjustments. On mine at least the choker was too tight a fit and I ended up adding another bigger jump ring so it would close around the neck. I know some people are just popping the heads off and putting the necklace on but that seemed like too much work to me given how often I redress these models…so the jump ring was a good solution for me.

The braids were a surprise to me and apparently a lot of other collectors. They didn’t show these in the promo shots so I made sure to showcase them in these pictures. Definitely a Moschino influence with the burned edge bow.

Moschino 2016 RTW

Jessy Ayala did a marvelous job with the modern day “Clueless” inspired collection. It’s young, its hip, it’s edgy and it also manages to be fun. I am looking forward to photographing different looks.
I also ordered the Erin but did not get individual shots of her so I went ahead and did a group shot of the girls I did order. I will be adding Lilith and hope upon all hope that I can add the Eden to. Please shine down on me oh Lottery Gods.

And…because, as Jessy explained to us at the last IT convention, this collection was inspired by the movie Clueless…I just had to do this.

No…I’m not doing a current political climate op-ed. WClub members woke up to some much anticipated and exciting news. The highly anticipated lottery for Trouble Eden was announced. That alone would have people anxious and excited.

This was to be the final installment of the NU.Face™ Reckless collection….or so we thought. Integrity Toys and the WClub kicked up the heat however with their lottery announcement by adding the mother of all ginsu cutting knife moments.
But Wait There’s More!!
Many collectors were lamenting the fact that this Eden would be a lottery. It appears that the WClub was listening because they offered up a consolation prize to beat all consolation prizes for lovers of the twins. Yep…you guessed it, the WClub members were given the option to purchase ( purchase not another lottery!) a companion Lilith doll to this Eden…and she has left this collector with her jaw on the floor.

Integrity Toy’s made their first collection reveal to the newly minted 2017 WClub the other day and all I can say is Wow! it’s a doozy! As Dolce and Gabbana and many other designers are going to the so called millennials for inspiration and a new ad campaigns, David Buttry appears to be pulling from the same pool…at least with the fashions and accessories.
Millennials = consisting of individuals born between 1982 and 2004.
There have been a lot of positives and negatives written about Millennials. I will stick with the positive. It has been noted that they grew up in an electronics-filled and increasingly online and socially-networked world. This helps to explain some of the many new and fabulous accessories that come with this collection. Hope you enjoy.
Keep in mind that these offerings are available through Integrity Toys dealers and were announced to the WClub a few days a go. If you want any of these …run don’t walk to try and get these. Some may be sold out already.

Talk about updated hair! This one is an early favorite for many collectors. She comes with sandals and boots and while I love the accessories, I am not loving the dress on this one. It seems way too dowdy for this doll. She needs edgy and hip in my opinion not docile little school girl. The doll though with half flocked and half pink tresses…fabulousness! **note** This doll is articulated at the ankle. The other dolls are not.

These accessories!!! A MUST have. As to the question…”Will Rebecca buy a doll just for the accessories?”. Well…yes she will. I do also like the look of this doll but he is very similar to the Ace McFly doll they produced a couple of conventions ago. I’m still getting him though as the girls and guys in my collection need their makeup artist .
David Buttry and his team did an amazing job with this first full scale ‘The Industry” collection. The accessories alone make this capsule collection worth a look-see. My only complaint is that…there is a WHOLE lot of black going on here. It would be nice to see more color coming in. And also on the subject of black, there was also an absence of it…as in skin tone. I would have liked to have seen an AA model in this lineup. There are, however, a whole lot of mix and match pieces that will be fun to pair with other outfits in my collection and I look forward to being the mini stylist with those and sharing on the blog. I can definitely see my Out of Sight Nadja in many of these outfits.
Again…these dolls are available through Integrity Toys dealers only. Feel free to click on the link to find them.

One hundred collectors of One of a Kind fashion dolls congregated in New York City for an amazing event. It was the first event of it’s kind and it has left this attendee with a huge sense of gratitude and respect for my fellow collectors.
First and foremost, I have to thank Rocky Schmidt and his incredible team of festival organizers. This event was simply amazing. From the moment we registered to the last evenings dinner and doll presentation, it was a beautifully produced and orchestrated event. We all ate, drank and were very merry indeed. Because of the small intimate nature of this festival, you felt like you were attending a family reunion. Collectors of specialized one of a kind fashion dolls gathered from all over the world and although we live in different areas, we were all connected through the love of this particular sub genre of collecting.
While it’s always nice to get some nice ‘swag’ at events, I would say the bulk of enjoyment for most at this event were the people. It’s the enjoyment of being with people who collect exactly what you collect. This convention celebrated in particular the artistry and design of two very well respected and admired OOAK artistic teams…Magia 2000 and Ninimomo. It was a festival that celebrated their artistry and love for this specialized craft .
For me personally, this event had special significance. Firstly, It offered up an opportunity to collaborate on a project with some of my closest friends who work in this 1/6 scale medium. I have long admired and respected Hilda and Rogier’s work. Just to be a part of this team that produced the Laduree diorama was something I am so honored to be a part of.

It was also an honor to donate a few items to the talented collaborators of Hilda Westervelt of Bellissima Couture and Maryann Roy of Welcome Home and their centerpiece doll design.

Besides the festival itself, there were a number of top favorites from the trip.
#1 I got to go to one of my favorite places with a few of my favorite people.
#2 I got to see Rogier enjoy his first NYC hot dog from a stand!

#3 I got to experience the garment district with the master…Hilda

#4 And…I got to enjoy an amazing dinner with some great friends…old and new

And…last but not least, I got to enjoy the city with my husband and daughter ( wish my son could have joined….darn those college classes)

To cap off the whole week of festivities, a number of us from the festival were able to attend a performance of Hamilton!! And it was an opportunity to meet up with in-laws and give a lovely sister-in-law the opportunity to see the show of her heart…on Broadway! That made it all the sweeter.

So…Rocky and Team…from this blogger of fashion dolls…a HUGE Thank you for the memories and events of a lifetime.
