Homecoming and The Wizard of OZ
The title sounds like an interesting Indie movie doesn’t it? Mattel finally released photos for two new offerings coming soon to Barbiecollector. First up is the 2nd edition to Bill Greening’s popular Willows, WI. collection….a frothy homecoming queen.
Homecoming Queen™ Barbie® Doll

She is cute! Love the Silkie face on this collection as well. Beautifully done Mr. Greening.
Next up is the annual installment of Mattel’s Wizard of Oz obsession. I never thought of WOZ dolls as “cash cows” but apparently they are. If you ever missed out on these no worries, just wait until next year’s installment. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Wizard of OZ….just not THIS much. That being said, this one I would put in the higher end as far as concept and design. She is very nice.
THE WIZARD OF OZ™ Fantasy Glamour GLINDA™ Doll
Release Date: 6/11/2015
Product Code: CJF31
No more than 5500 units produced worldwide.
Retail: Wait for it….$100.00
You can buy her now but she won’t ship until 8/6/2015. This one is a direct exclusive which means she is only available through www.barbiecollector.com
She is pretty…just don’t know if she is $100 pretty. If I collected fantasy dolls…I might be considering this one.

Hi Rebecca,
I know my question doesn’t directly relate to this posting, but I hope you won’t mind my asking it here. Like you I really adore the fashions created by James Bogue. I went to browse his shop on Etsy last week I found that the shop is no longer available. Has he changed the name of his shop or (please say it isn’t so!!) has he stopped creating doll fashions? Sob, sob…

Hey Suzette,
I was wondering the same thing the other day when I went to his Etsy site and it said not available. I will email him and find out then post something here on the blog.

Thanks a bunch! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that it’s just a computer glitch. 🙂

The Homecoming doll is quite appealing, but I haven’t to order her yet. I passed on the picnic doll (not a fan of pigtails), but have liked the Cupid and Shamrock dolls. However, I bought those new at the original prices, and they later went on sale. I might take the chance that this one will, too. If she had articulation, she would have already been in the shopping cart.
