Grace Kelly Silkstone–Studio Shots Part II

Okay..so I wanted to use my trifold mirror in the worst way so I used that for the first set of photos.  Then I used my favorite graduated black to white background because I thought It would look good with the white gown.   Hope you guys think so too.  I really love how these shots turned out!  No major photoshopping folks…she really is this beautiful.

  1. She is a beautiful doll and I do love her ensemble. What I wonder about is her striped hair. Did Grace Kelly have highlights like that? I’ve seen Mattel do highlighted/blended hair much better.

    • Interesting point Terri. In my opinion, the hair is such a minute part of this fabulous doll that I really don’t notice the hair at all ( outside of the fact that I love her swirl bun under the veil!!). I can see that it might bother some but I can’t get over how beautiful the facial screening is on this lady and her gown.

I concur, keep them coming! I would love to see a side profile of her barbie! I love it when mattel gives their celebrity doll their own head mold but more importantly the right pair of ears!

      • I think I have a side profile in a previous blog post but….I think the veil is covering her ears so that wouldn’t work for you now would it. I will have to take a look at all my shots and see if I can find one. I would love to do a shoot with a profile view looking out over a balcony…will see if that ever comes to pass. Thank you for the nice comment! I am glad you are enjoying the photos.

wow isn’t she just lovely! 2011 is definitely Barbie’s best year for her celebrity doll collections! This one is one of their best! The doll is much more beautifully made then the other celebrity dolls of the actress’s era (Hepburn, Taylor, etc.)

    • I completely agree with you James. The face on this lady is absolutely stunning. I am torn because I want to redress and photograph but how can I remove that lovely gown. She is perfection in it. Can you tell I am a bit smitten with this one??!!

I see a Betty Draper incarnation from this doll. Is her hair nice under the veil?

    • The hair is absolutely fab! It is a swirl bun that would be perfect without the veil. I am lifting the moratorium on redress for this lady. Oh yes…the gown will come off and the redressing will commence.

  6. As always … Perfection!

I just recieved my Grace Kelly bride Barbie from UPS yesterday and let me tell you she looks soo beautiful in person! Just looking at your beautiful pictures, I thought I have seen it all but this is definitely the doll one must see in person! Unfortuantely the doll’s box came damaged. The back of the box is deeply vented in so I’m asking for a replacement from my dealer. I won’t see my new Grace for a little while:(

    • So sorry to hear that your box was damaged. I am sure your dealer will make it right for you. I just love this Grace Kelly bride! I can’t wait to redress and photograph her.
