To Sir, With Love
This song practically screams 1965 to me and apparently many others because it is listed in the top 5 songs of 1965. Love the movie, love the song and loved playing it while I shot these.
Model: Irresistible in India Poppy Parker
Gown and earrings: Palm Beach Coral Silkstone Barbie
This outfit by Robert Best for the Silkstone Barbie line looks to be inspired by vintage 1960’s Valentino. Beautiful and so appropriate for Ms. 1965 Poppy! Those nails though…Yipes!!

I hope you have enjoyed this walk through the mid 1960’s with Ms. Irresistible in India Poppy Parker. This is not a style I photograph that often so it was fun to pop in some oldies but goodies and revisit the 60’s for a bit.
Rebecca, I have SO enjoyed your pics of Irresistible Poppy! She is a truly stunning doll. But I think my favorite photo from all that you have done with her so far, is the first one today. I think you really captured her cool sophistication.

Awwww! Thank you Rich. I love to shoot the side view. Such a feeling of wistfulness. Let’s face it though…this doll simply does not take a bad photo. 🙂 I am glad you have enjoyed the photos. This was a new style and era for me to photograph so it was fun.

Stunning! I am always amazed how you can find these similar styles. Gown is fabulous. I love the tree branch looks. Since I am a nurse, I also see capillaries, LOL

Heehee! I love that you saw capillaries in this. I can totally see it now. I am glad you enjoyed the photos. I wish I could take complete credit for finding all these fashion inspirations but I have to be honest and say I find many of these on the doll boards and through doll friends. Rogier of Dutch Barbie World is particularly good at finding these. I did find the hair one though…just kind of stumbled across it.

These retro photos of Poppy have been great fun! Seeing the record reminds me of an anecdote my sister told me. Apparently her son found some old record albums she had stored away and asked her how to play the “Giant CD’s”!

LOL! Giant CD’s indeed. Out of the mouths of babes…pure gold. Thank you so much for the comment Laura. I am glad you enjoyed the photos and the trip back to the 60’s. I know I did.
