A Snow Day in Paris
You know those annoying phrases you learn in the first year of a foreign language class in the US. They were the ones you first learned to say in the language you were learning. You said them over and over again until the were burrowed into your subconscious and you can still pull them out 20 to 30 years later. The first phrase I learned in French was ” Oh zut! il neige”. I never in a million years thought I would be able to use it but after our second day in Paris, I can say that I have actually used the phrase!
We did not let the snow infringe on our activities though…even though it meant very crowded metro rides, we braved the elements and enjoyed a day at the Musée d’Orsay.
We also managed to have the most fabulous lunch in the most exquisite place at the museum.
We had a Kir Royale to celebrate
It was a good day in Paris!
“Oh damn it snow?” re my Google search. I don’t recall learning that in my two yrs of high school French. But wait, I don’t remember anything beyond “fermez le grande bouche” or “shut yr big mouth” or something like that! Ha ah. Great pix!

LOL! I know right. I went to one of those progressive midwestern high schools ( no such animal!) Believe me, I was not upset by the beautiful postcard snow in Paris. I was however annoyed at the crowded metro trains it caused and the sudden uptick in pickpocket situations we ran into. Don’t those girls have anything better to do? I guess not 😦 Glad you liked the pix!

How lucky you are to be in Paris with such a snowfall. Not so usual and it transforms the city!

Completely agree! It did indeed transform an already beautiful landscape. Once in a lifetime experience for sure.

Wasn’t that the most amazing “girl lunch” place. You don’t get much more girly and out of this world fabulous than that. Thank you for the lovely comment Karen.

Nice photos. I am glad that you had a fabulous time in Paris. I would love to take a trip to Europe one of these days. I know, snowy weather can be a nuisance at times, but when it snows, it’s very pretty, especially at night.

It was very pretty at night…very cold…but very pretty. It gave us the perfect excuse to stop frequently at cafes for the requisite chocolate chaud ( hot chocolate)…and nobody makes hot chocolate like the French. I still dream of it.
