Celebrating Spring
I love Spring. In the Pacific Northwest, it means the birds start singing and the constant grey rain gives way to a few sunny days here and there. I have always thought of Spring as a beginning…and I am so ready for some new and wonderful beginnings.
My camellias are starting to bloom…
and so are my crocus.
Lilacs are starting to bud.
Forsythia is holding court in the garden. The first sentinel of Spring.
My dear friend Hilda of Bellissima Couture gifted this exquisite gown for me over a year ago and I wanted to share it. Not only is it exquisite in every way, it also incorporates some lovely lace found on our trip to Paris. It is simply too lovely for words. A treasure in my collection..and heart.

Spring can’t get here early enough for me! I’m tired of winter after about an hour, much less six months…lovely flowers, though (as I present a Camellia to you, raberry!

🙂 Why “Thank You” ThomasJ. I am sorry for the tough winter for 3/4 of the U.S. This one is brutal. We are being spared this year in the Pacific Northwest but I feel for the parts of the country that are dealing with this arctic weather. Sending warm spring zephyr thoughts your way.

Your photography is lovely as always, my friend!! Did you and Hilda vacation in Paris together? I love Paris. I have been there……once. 🙂 Did not know to look for lovely laces at that time, however. That was BEFORE I was sewing for the dolls. So missed out on THAT opportunity. Oh, well. Maybe one day I will go again, who knows? Love spring up here in the Great Northwest as well. I live pretty close to Hilda. 🙂

Thank you Debbie! Yes, Hilda and I traveled together to Paris the spring before last. We attended the Paris Doll Expo and it was glorious. If you ever get back to Paris, the fabric district is up in Montmartre by Sacré Coeur.

I think the Pacific Northwest is the only part in the US that has flowers blooming!! Lucky you. It’s going to be close to zero degrees here tonight!!! Can’t wait for spring. Nice to see signs of spring!!! Beautiful pictures 🙂

Sorry about that, Barb!! Where do YOU live? 😦 Hope spring comes SOON for all of you back in the mid-west and east!!!

thanks! northern Wis hasn’t got it as bad as out east (I feel for those folks) – we should see signs of Spring about mid-May/June 😐

I’m so sorry Barb. Hopefully the pictures of spring will give hope that you too will leave the arctic tundra some time soon. I don’t regret leaving the Midwest in winters like the one you have been experiencing. Hang in there 🙂
