Barbie for big girls.

IDEX 2012 Reveal–Poppy is a Big Girl Now.

One of the most surprising reveals from Integrity Toys at IDEX was the announcement of a 16 inch line of Poppy Parkers.  They will have the name Poppy Parker Fashion Teen to differentiate them from just plain Poppy Parker who is a 12 inch gal.    They are absolutely gorgeous and I really wished that I collected the larger scale ladies.  Alas…there is no room in the inn for those ladies and even though I am sorely tempted….I must resist.

  1. I have to say that out of all the Integrity offerings, Poppy is the one that catches my eye consistently. Very cute! But something seems off in her proportions in this new scale, maybe it’s all in my head. Still, there’s no arguing that there are some real gems in there. Love the Barbara Eden hair, too!

    • I wish I collected the larger scale! These ladies are so beautiful. My favorite was the platinum blond as well. Oh..and the bride. LOVE.

  2. I have been wanting a Poppy for a long time, but I collect and sew for the big girls and didn’t want to get into the 12″ girls. I preordered the Bride and the red-head. I am so excited! And I thought this year would be a year that I didn’t buy many dolls. I am not starting the year out well.

    • I can’t wait to see what lovely clothing you will make for these new ladies Diane! I so wish I collected the larger scale ladies. I will enjoy them vicariously through others collections and pictures. I will resist…I will resist.

I cant say I will be collecting any of the big girls. Much as I love Poppy I am a bit of a purist and do not really like the 16inch ones or the Sabrina ones – I will be sticking to the usual both for aesthetic and practical reasons – it is my line in the sand – one cant afford everything. That said, I am normally a collector of caucasian dolls but I am finding more and more that Darla is gaining some space in my heart. I love the new Darla and she will be first on my purchase list, as I await more of my other love – Eugenia…

    • I hear you. You definitely do need to draw the line somewhere. I hope your Eugenia is coming up with the release of the rest of the 2012 lineup. I love Darla as well and her hair and blue gown are just to die for.
