Barbie for big girls.

Preferably Pink for early Bogue’s Vogues Vendredi

Preferably pink refers to the doll in this photo but it really could be the gown as well.  This was perhaps my favorite Bogue’s Vogues purchase of the year though choosing a favorite Bogue’s Vogue is like choosing my favorite child between my two kids….impossible.  This delicious pink cotton pique number with rolled black velvet collar is paired with a black velvet hat with netting bow.  TO DIE FOR!  Once again Mr Bogue…that hat is off to you.  Ms. Preferably Pink has had her hair restyled at the salon de Berry.

I was the lucky winner of Mr. Bogue’s creation at the opening night of the National Barbie Convention last night. There was no commentary with the doll but the outfit was of this style with a pearl necklace and petite
Flowered cap on a number one repro Barbie doll. It is beautifully made!

Hi – I know this may seem strange but I was looking for a way to

let people know that my brother James Bogue passed away on January 18 of this year. It was very sudden and of course my sisters and I are still very upset and shaken. Going thru his things I found so many beautiful pictures of all the gowns he had made throw out the years and I wanted to let people who enjoyed his beautiful work to know that he passed away. I hope this is not a bad way to let you know. I also want to say thank you for being part of his life thru his love of fashion and Barbie. He really enjoyed doing this.

    Thank you for reading,

    • Hello Carly, I am so very sorry to hear this and I am very sorry for your family’s loss. Thank you for letting us in the collector community know about his passing. His fashions have always been and will be treasures in my collection. I am sure this sentiment is felt by many in this community. I will write a blog post later this evening to let people know. I hope that is ok. While I never met your brother in person, we corresponded via email when I would purchase a gown. It was a pleasure and honor to be able to photograph his work and showcase his artistry. He will be missed very dearly. May his memory be a blessing.

With mine and many others sincere condolences,
      Rebecca
